    DCU Rebirth/boots

With an entire week passed and no iconic heroes passing away, perhaps it’s time to reflect on the little baby comic books left in my crib recently… Every now and then, I’m reminde…

Pretty much my feelings. I'm really liking what I've read...but I don't trust the guys in charge, after the "torture porn" era as Ty put it so eloquently. And that era MAY not be over. I'm still waiting for them to pull another "FOOLED YOU OLD FARTS! WE'RE YOUNG, EDGEY AND HIP! MORE DISMEMBERMENT!!!"

BUT...right now, it looks like the change is sincere. So I'm holding out hope it is.

I was watching my Challenge of the Super Friends DVD set last night, and on one of the commentary tracks, Geoff Johns says something like "people forget, super heroes are supposed to be fun".

Geoff himself forgot that. Maybe he finally remembered again.

^Not to sidetrack but that's the reason the Marvel movies do better than the DC movies.

with Rebirth, it just shows how forgiving the comics audience is and how much they do go in hoping to like the titles DC puts out. how willing they are to sample reboot titles (The success of the initial New 52 illustrates this, and now Rebirth).

The irony of this is that following the Death of Superman stunt once again, Superman's role seems to take a back seat to Lois Lane as Superwoman, Lex Luthor taking over Action Comics (again), and the Chinese Superman. (am I forgetting one?)

to be fair though, Reign of Supermen did spinoff at least two titles/characters that did have some degree of relative longevity. Superboy and Steel. With the Cyborg Superman and Eradicator becoming recurring staples.

Sampling a few...still waiting for the JSA. The art on some hasn't improved, such as on the Flash. That's a big thing for me. And there's still a lot to be revealed storywise.
Also waiting for the shoe to drop, since the people in charge remain the same. First sign of the gore and nonsense of nu52 will kill this line for good.
