One of the rumors now: the two-part appearance is to hand the "Hero of Earth" status of Superman to Supergirl by either sending him off planet at the end of the story or -- and this would be classic Berlanti -- have him lose his powers and be there as a mentor for Kara.

Hec, your outrage chariot awaits . . . if that's what they do (particularly the second option), I'll be riding with you.

        That goes without saying.

But unfortunately that's not going to happen...since Legends of Tomorrow is probably going to share the same universe with Supergirl...what a bummer...and Routh is contractually stuck...

Don't see why not... the CW should have about the same budget as Star Wars...

I don't know the guy, but he looks okay from here.

I still wish they'd used Welling. They've cast so many past Super-actors already, it seems a shame to miss that one.

This could be different. I still want Welling to play something in Supergirl but not Superman.

Tom Welling simply got old...dude is 39. The new TV Supes, Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf) is 28, I'm sure age played a factor.

I mean, 39 is not old per say...and some are saying Hoechlin is too young...as he's only a year older than Mellisa Benoist.

Perhaps this is the reason they cast Hoechlin, I'm sure the teen girls will like him...

I personally think his face is a bit off...not quite Supes, but overall, dude is manly...not too full lipped pretty like Welling...and that's a good thing in my book...

I don't think Welling is too old, he looks great.

That said, Hoechlin is fine by me, I've been watching Teen Wolf from the start. At 28, he's already older than Chris Reeve was when he started.

In my mind, most mature, established heroes are in their early '30s--or at least appear so.
