SUPERGIRL: Season Two
Just read some interesting news. The Big Blue Boyscout, Superman himself, is going to be appearing in the first two episodes of Season Two. Casting going on now. Be interesting to see what iteration of The Man of Steel it will be. Wondering if his presence will tie in at all to how they're going to transition Supergirl into the greater CW/DCverse.

They really should think about tying it back to Smallville. IMHO it should be Welling if he wants to do it. I just never got the whole idea that the TV and Movie universes should be separate. It's cost Warner/DC millions and a bad rep for crappy movies. When Smallville ended they should have brought almost the entire cast over to the big screen. Last episode/last scene should have been Clark's first day at work at the Daily Planet and it should have said catch Clark in theater's this winter in Superman blah blah blah. If Welling wants to do it I say give him a shot."When not too many people can see we're all the same

Hector will have an anuerism, but I want Welling, IF he wants to do it. If they have to beg him, I don't want him to do it. Because it will definitely show.

They would NEVER do this, but since they've never given us a good look at him, wouldn't it be amazing for them to go all All-Star Comics on this and reveal Superman's been on Earth a lot longer than Kara and show a grey-templed Superman to reveal their relationship to be more like Earth-2 Superman/Power Girl?

I'm also thinking a fun way to bring him in would be to follow up on the tag scene from the season finale and have Kara reach out to him when she finds Krypto, his family dog, in the crashed rocket she found. Action and plot could follow from there, but it would be a gentle, fun way to have him appear.Comment

welling is far better suited to the role than Cavill or Cain. He grew into the look and now is the perfect representation.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

Look, I'm not a fan of Tom Welling, most of you know that. Not because he doesn't have the look of Supes...sure...he does...but because he played Clark Kent and not SUPERMAN for a friggin decade...and only rewarded fans with 20 seconds of actual Superman footage in the FINAL episode...all from a long shot...and in the friggin dark...I don't give him a pass...how insanely absurd and pathetic that was...garbage. He definitely had the influence and power to be Superman (especially in the latter years)...but elected not to...for those things...he was never Superman to me, just Clark Kent. Heck, the Turkish Superman is more Superman to me than Tom Welling.
Having said that...if he were to appear as SUPERMAN (finally)...I'm all for it...because it sure beats the imbecilic and stupid way of just mentioning his name but not showing him in Supergirl (like Smallville in a way, but worse). All we saw in Supergirl...was his boots...laying unconscious, like a big useless dummy (in the series finale). I hope if Willing (or whoever is cast) shows up...please...for the love of God...start giving Superman SOME BLOODY RESPECT...because they treated him like crap...one of the reasons I really started HATING the Supergirl series..."Oh, Supergirl, you are so much faster than your cousin" "Oh, Kara, you defeated that baddie, something Superman could never do". In the series finale...even lowly humans snapped outta their hypnotic trance...even squirrels...but nooooooooo...not Superman, because in this Supergirl universe...he's nothing but a big blue/red dummy.
It's going to take a LOT from me to watch the second season of Supergirl...A LOT...sigpicComment

I am all for Tom playing Superman but do not let it be connected to Smallville. Smallville had its own Supergirl and that was good enough. Now that Tom has aged it would look good to see him in the Superman outfit. My biggest question is what are they going to do for her lame office job since they are moving and her boss is not coming back.

If they want to cast Welling as Superman, I'm fine with that idea, as long as he's not the same Clark Kent that was in Smallville. Evidently, Kara Zor-El and company exist on yet another parallel Earth, so let it be that universe's version of Superman. And for God's sake, please don't use that suit from Superman Returns. It's just too doggone dark and kinda dainty for TV.
