The article goes on to say that both Mysterio and The Vulture would have been in the fourth film. I think that would have again been one villain too many, one of the problems that plagued Spider-man 3. Either one would have been great, and certainly made for a better film than either of the Garcia efforts.

I think Sony was concerned Maguire and Dunst we're both getting a little long in the tooth for the version of Spider-Man they wanted. I disagree, but that was part of the reason for the reboot.
