i just finished watching. while there are still plot holes, the ultimate edition is a more cohesive movie and I liked it a lot more than the theatrical version. well worth watching, I did not think the additional violence was enough to warrant an R rating but whatever. seeing Clarks *** in the shower is not worth an R rating either. but overall the additional footage made for a much better movie. some of the added on scenes with WW worked well and made her whole presence make more sense

Well since the R rated version is only on the Blu-Ray version I had to download it from utorrents. I will watch it tonight.
Just finished watching the long version and it still was still a mess. It like watching three movies and the same time.Last edited by monitor_ep; Jul 20, '16, 12:06 AM.Visit my wiki site:

How does Cavill's butt get an R rating, when Jackman's gratuitous butt shot in Days of Future Past did not?
I'm in no hurry to see this film again. Filling in some of the plot holes still leaves you with a road like the surface of the moon. And if they didn't fix all that silly "Martha? Your mom's name is Martha? Well, we're bros then, dude!" nonsense, then...I'll pass.
This movie has gotten worse and worse for me as I ruminated over it in my brain. It's a misfire of epic proportions at best. I still like Wonder Woman in it...but that's about it.

Chris, to me its about batman realizing he's not that much different than superman and how far he's fallen from his original intent . And its batmans chance to do what he couldn't for his own mother. Redemption to some extent

I'm have been on record here for loving the movie. It's not
Perfect by any means. The ultimate edition actually helps fill in quite a few gaps. I am enjoying the extra footage, especially Lois' investigations. I'm 2/ 3 through it now , we'll see how the third act may, or may not be helped .mego's befo ho'sComment

But within minutes of Batman almost impaling Supes to death (with the kryptonite spear)...and right after rescuing Martha...he tells her, "I'm a friend of his" (I'm paraphrasing here)...sorry, but that was unintentional comedy at its best, lol...sigpicComment

Rented and just finished watching the Ultimate edition which is, for me, the only edition I have seen. Never saw it in the theaters so I can't speak to the differences. The first fifteen or twenty minutes setup what could have been a compelling story. But then that first twenty lead into an hour, then ninety minutes. By that point, I'm thinking to myself, " Does Snyder know this is suppose to be a superhero film?" The set up and staging for what I guess is suppose to be the 'big payoff' in the final chapter becomes so overstated and disjointed, by the time they get to the "Martha" scene I literally laughed out loud. That had to be the most impossible leap of logic ever perpetrated on the public. I've seen better stretches of reasoning on the Superfriends. Hell, I'm not sure even Schumacher would have touched that one. I mean, I've had to endure over two hours of watching Wayne have nonstop nightmares and hallucinations about the threat of Superman (some suggesting he will take over the world with his own military) and this troubled life-long psychosis and paranoia is suddenly cured by the utterance of "Martha"? REALLY? Superman hasn't done anything to demonstrate at that moment that he is anything other than what Batman sees him to be, and because his mother's name is Martha Batman just drops all his notions and essentially thinks, "Weeeeeell. I guess he can't be all that bad if his mamma's name is Martha. He's my bro now. Think I'll devote the next chapter of my life fighting for him and his mother!" I couldn't take another five minutes of this movie serious after that scene.
As a Snyder film it did not surprise me. It was predictably depressing, drenched in social commentary and subplots that killed the pacing, plus all the characters gain access to highly private information and know one another's motivations without the slightest rationale as to how they would obtain it. It almost had a bit of '66 camp running through the script the way everyone seem to be an open book to one another. So to conclude, it had some interesting ideas for a story, but once again Snyder couldn't help himself. We had to take his grand tour of their damaged psyches and unrelenting plot holes that throw us from moment to moment without the slightest reason why. If this was suppose to be the 'better' version, I don't even want to know how badly it was botched in the theatrical cut.Last edited by MIB41; Jul 24, '16, 6:00 AM.Comment
