Not really concerned over them using Dr. Manhattan, although they could just as easily used The Spectre who is (or was at one time) equally powerful. Johnny Thunder could have even pulled it off by accident?
I'm sure we'll see the crossover with JLA, Batman vs. Rorschach. Comedian /Joker, but those crossover bits go nowhere and fade away. How many remember Green Lantern Kyle vs. Siver Surfer? Superman & Fantastic Four tabloid? Galactus vs. Darkseid? The Beyond Watchmen stuff didn't really dilute the original for me, as like most I ignored it.
As far as Alan Moore goes, he's created his own bed. He doesn't want to play at DC fine. Let him write his weird Cthulu stuff.
How would the Watchmen be like New Gods? Other than Manhattan? The rest were unpowered people.

Except for the fact that Manhattan was the only one powered and Rorshach and Comedian were both dead by the end of the story. I don't find it interesting at all and would seem really silly.

So Manhattan creates an entire universe, or drastically alters one, and that means Watchmen characters would remain dead? I take it as the opposite.

But, as above, why not the Spectre or some other cosmic entity? I can see that DC might want to use Manhattan as a deus ex machina, but why per se? To me Watchmen is its own thing. Also, there's really no knowing what or whom Manhattan would resurrect. Making the DCU some pat clockwork game to him seems to me to devalue both universes. Isn't this just as contrived as Mr. Mind eating parts of reality?

Re T-bolt--I don't see it as silly per se, maybe lazy.

I read where the whole Nu52 Universe is just a dream Bobby Ewing had. The relaunch starts with him and Dr. Manhattan in the shower.

THAT would be the way to do it: Johnny thumbing through a Bronze-age issue of JLA and looking up, pondering aloud, "Say, you'd think the world would be better off it was like these comics!" and BOOM! Reboot! Two pages of that story/explanation, and then we dive into the new continuity in some big crossover adventure and never look back.

Sigh . . . why do they have the guys they do running these things . . . ?

I do see at as silly and not really respecting the Work of Moore and Gibbons by relegating the stand alone story to some corner of the DCU and using one of them as a escape hatch to reset the DCU mess. I just really don't picture them in a Olympus type role for the multiverse, a role better suited to the New Gods or the Olympians themselves.

Baggage. Watchmen have none, all DCU characters have a full line of Samsonite. How many people will btch to more alterations to cannon? Specter is the only one you could do it with, but that would be going to Ostrander's take where he's a legit angel of God. I don't see DC wanting to take that on in today's social media warfare. It's guaranteed to aggravate either the religious or the secular wing. Considering how the industry tends to role, my money would be on the latter as Spectre would create Super Genesis and doesn't that make it all have a religious undertone? Manhattan keeps it all firmly in the world of science.

Also, to me, it"s taking how each Watchmen already acts and incorporating it into DCU. The closest intrpretation would be how the Greek gods were depicted in the Nu52 Wonder Woman run. They were fighting amongst each other and the people were collateral. The God aspect would be a case of perspective?

Ugh. It's gone beyond spoiled and now it's rotten. This is their great idea to get things back on track?!?I'm glad I don't read comics much anymore.

Or maybe him and Bob Newhart in bed.

I hope this is a step in the right direction but we've seen Geoff Johns do this story before, and the hope was a brighter DCU like before. Follow my logic:

A long-forgotten hero, his existence erased by a reality-altering Crisis, emerges from the void to show the heroes of the new Earth that everything they know is wrong. He tries to set them on a course to stop the darkness that has consumed their world. Meanwhile, figures that were once seen as heroes manipulate the cosmic goings-on in the background, to their own ends.

That's Rebirth AND Infinite Crisis. And we all know how that turned out. With a dead Earth-Two Superman, and things bleaker than ever.

                        I hope I'm wrong.

Well, looks like another dead Superman. And IC started by teasing all of us with a return to times past, only to rip that away big time.
