New Preacher TV series

Chris Hardwick is just one of those guys who mostly drives me crazy - so I avoided watching that and the "Better Call Saul" show.

Yeah, he irritates every one i know. Somehow he's sidled into this position of "Geek Ambassador" along with Felicia Day.

It's funny, I hear that a lot but personally I kind of like the guy. His after shows are better than what HBO is trying to do with their Game of Thrones after show, which seems less professional.

But back to Preacher, it's ok, I'll stick with it but I wish it was better (very different from the excellent comic book). I love the guy playing Cassidy, but am still not sold on the actor playing Jesse and still really don't like Tulip. Her accent and performance takes me right out of the show. I like the two angels and their unsanctioned mission. Uh oh, wonder who is on the phone... I also like the opening credits sequence.

I've been enjoying it more and more each episode and really haven't found much to dislike. I'm liking Odin Quincannon a lot, he's a cool character and I've always enjoyed Jackie Earle Haley in other roles he's done.

i am hanging in three. I enjoy the show but am not hooked. never read the comic so no connection there. I will say each episode has gotten better and I am getting more into the show

We've only seen Herr Starr briefly from behind so far, but I'm hoping that when we finally see him properly that he lives up to the comic version. And man, it's such a shame that the budget doesn't allow this to be the road trip story that it should be, instead of everyone hanging around in this town. Cassidy even teased us about it in this episode, like they are screwing with the comic readers.

Ok, this show is getting so far away from the comic book that it's funny, but I'm still really enjoying the ride, enjoying the show on it's own merits. The last few episodes were very entertaining.

I dont visit message boards as I'm afraid of spoilers from the comic. Been avoiding Walking Dead threads for years. This show has been really great so far. Did Tulip end up with a different dog than the one she said she would take at the shelter? Could have sworn the one at the shelter was a pitbull. I get a kick out Cassidy hacking on the Big Lebowski from time to time.

Finally all caught up on the show. Really starting to enjoy it...seems like after we got done introducing all the characters, then it got better. The last few episodes had some really wicked humor in them, which is what this show needs. Without it it can quickly go into overly dark and nasty. None of the characters are very likeable, everyone us seriously creepy. But add in some goofy fun and it's so much better.
Quincannon's "pep talks" to his troops were hilarious (Food Court!). The poor guy that made the lone charge. Winkin , Blynkin, & Nod. The town coming out to watch. And Eugene.

I never read the original series, just random issues — and now I kind of want to, but I'm afraid to, because I love the show so much. I think I recognize a few of the images in the show from the covers though.

I didn't notice the dog changing, but I guess if the dog changed they were maybe implying she needed more than one dog? Anyone else notice this?

I love that Big Lebowski motif with Cassidy. I like that movie, but as a huge Coen Bros. fan I tend to agree with him, I think it's a bit overrated.
