    Worse....here's the Rock's comments:

"Doc was physically and mentally trained from birth by his father and a team of scientists to become the perfect human specimen with a genius level intellect. His heightened senses are beyond comprehension. He can even identify a women’s perfume from half a mile away. He is literally the master of everything.
But here’s the #1 reason I’m excited to become Doc Savage.. HE’S A F*CKING HILARIOUS WEIRDO!

Confidently, yet innocently he has zero social graces whatsoever due to his upbringing so every interaction he has with someone is direct, odd, often uncomfortable and amazingly hilarious.

After speaking for hours w/ Shane Black I can see why the creator of Superman took only the best parts of Doc Savage and leaving the “weirdo” part behind. But to us, it’s that “weirdo” part that makes Clark “Doc” Savage dope! Can’t wait to sink my teeth into this one of a kind character. #ItsOfficial #WorldsFirstSuperhero "

Geen Hornet all over again. Bah!

Yeah. Shane sold him a bag of his typical BS.

One caveat is this may not happen. Black has to shoot Predators while Rock has a dozen films in development. If Predators doesn't work, this won't move.

I don't know what Johnson is doing anymore. He's signing on for projects at an irrational pace. It's like he thinks he's one bomb away from being cast back to WWE fulltime.

This kind of surprises me, because I thought Chris Hemsworth was the pick they were going with. Now we have a dark haired guy playing Doc Savage and a blonde guy playing Tarzan. I suggest Carrot Top for Shazam--he's pretty buff now.

Physically he's a fine choice and I get that. I don't know if I can buy him as a surgeon and scientist. From the sound of things Doc is going to be portrayed as a muscular Sheldon Cooper.

Does anyone know if it's going to be a period film?

Crock (of...) Savage is more like it. WTH kind of comment is that, it's like Johnson is still in wrestling mode. I've read almost all the Savage pulps, "amazingly hilarious" is not a character quality that springs to mind. He's not poorly-socialized, he's a WWI verteran, humanitarian, and holds several degrees. This "home-schooled nerd" approach is totally off-base. Also, Doc is in fantastic, ripped condition but not muscle-bound. More like a gymnast I'd say.

Like Green Hornet, I fear so.

This must be Shane Black bringing more of the fine comical interpretation he brought to Iron Man 3 From the books, I think Doc could be slightly awkward occasionally, but that's more a function of being the smartest guy in the room all the time and having to always gauge how much he needs to explain to everyone else. But a roided-up Sheldon Cooper he ain't.

What is it about the old-time heroes modern filmmakers don't get? John Carter got reinterpreted to the character -- and the franchise's -- detriment, as well as the aforementioned Green Hornet . . .
