    Arrow

Okay, is it just me or is anyone else getting tired of Damien Dark? He needs a serious beat-down (or worse) and then his character needs to go away.

He will at the end of the season. I am hating season long bad guys. I they would do two different story arcs that would be split by the winter break.

I love him as a scenery chewer, and he's killed one of them, so he's made it to the bigtime as far as villains go. It was great seeing him show up on Legends, too. I just got to the episode with Madam Xanadu, here's to hoping Constantine rolls in to save the day.

Yeah...he's one of the reasons why my interest in this show has dropped to an all time low. That and all the CW drama overkill...the first two seasons, Arrow was in my top 3 favorite shows. Now, it's at the very bottom of the list of programming that I watch. I'm fairly certain that I will not watch next season.

Hard to take a villain seriously when he looks like the Gerber Baby all grown up (Thank you Raylan!). But seriously, this actor plays nearly the exact same character in each and every one of his roles. I think the single exception I can think of is Dum Dum Dugan.

Sadly, NOT Madame X., but that would've been super nice.

It would be great to see one of the other magic heavy-hitters in the DC Universe step in to help Ollie and Company out; Constantine, Madame X, Zatanna, The Phantom Stranger, Dr. Fate or The Spectre. In any case, Darkh is going down hard in the season finale, most likely getting the deep six...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I've only watched Arrow here and there this season, but I'm sick of Damien Dark myself.

In fact, the "unbeatable, season-long bad guy" angle has really worn thin. Making the characters constantly look like ineffective tools doesn't really help one love the show.

Actually, for all the talk of how great Berlanti is (and he has created some amazing interpretations of the characters and storylines, don't get me wrong) but if he's really shown some weaknesses in formulaic and repetitive approaches on the shows, like

              - hero out in the field with tech team back at base BUT in constant communication
              - season-long megavillains that would be diSpatched after a three-parter in the comics
              - WAY too much CW angst and on-the-nose sharing of feeling among the characters

All of these shows have types, and you can easily swap out Cisco for Wynn and it wouldn't affect the story much, or Felicity for Iris, or Darhk for Savage for Aunt Astra. It seems like they think' they've found the equation to make it work, and they just plug in a new super and turn the crank. I enjoy all the shows, but with them taking over the CW in the fall, it seems like they should do more to differentiate them, or the audience will lose track of who's revealed their love for who, who's still hiding it, or who's still on good terms with their tech nerd, or which villain's had their season-long scheme set back as the shows become one big squishy pile of plot points in the viewers' memories.
