    Possible Significant Change At WB/DC

The guy who worked as Creative Director for DC/CW has been promoted to VP Creative as Geoff Johns assistant and....

"...now handle and review creative content for all DC media that are in production with WB, including TV, film, animation and games. Evan’s focus is to ensure that the use of the DC characters and their stories stay true to the core values of the franchises, the company"

Coinciding with Supergirl CW pickup and how they're beginning to restructure talent contracts to cover all DC shows for the multiverse, it appears as if the CW creative direction has won out.

I wonder if this will mean more changes for the ill fated Justice league film in production? I know Ben Affleck is executive producer right now, but I have to think there has to be some new consideration for character direction and overall tone if the CW creative team gets a say.

^That's what I was wondering, too. Johns is Affleck's partner in all of this, and this guy works directly within Johns. So either he was brought on to shoulder more of Johns normal workload or he's an insurance policy to keep things in line with CW.

...I think this also explains Greene jumping off The Flash movie. Like Edgar Wright leaving Ant-Man, WB is not going allow creative license anymore. Now there's a good chance for Grant Gustin to multiverse with the movie version.

Boy do I hope you're right. Nothing would please me more than to see GG as the Flash on the big screen.

The real question is, will this guy get to host an awkward TV special with an overly gesturing Kevin Smith?

                IMHO? Still following the money.

"BvS is what?" "Why?" "We thought it was supposed to be like..."

Yeah, newsflash WB/DC... superhero films are popcorn films...more like the tone of your TV shows... especially if SUPERMAN is in them.... Nolan and Snyder are OBLIVIOUS... yeah, I said it.... you'd be better off with Tim Burton...

But, I can't be convinced they get that^^^, 'cause I've seen this evolve over almost two decades...

Do they realize the Nolan Batverse was box office/critical/audience success for a much more specific reason than initially pounced on, and subsequently ram-rodded down audience's throats?

                Doubt it.

I know what you're saying with "growing a brain"---but, frankly, I think the jury's currently out on if anything that wonderful will surface here..

And, also, I'm hard-pressed to use the word "brain" connected with a company that's essentially still making decisions in the panicked disoriented wake of a fun (if stupid) popcorn movie released 19 years ago.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
