Rom & the Superhero Girls. The line was long at our shop, out the door and down the sidewalk long! And I didn't get there until after 2 PM! Wanted a Phantom but they were gone.

I didn't pick anything up but my daughter grabbed Doctor Who, Spongebob and the Simpsons. So I read those.

I did manage a couple of so-so Gold Key Star Treks for a couple of bucks, so that was a win.

I was very encouraged by what I saw today. Managed to pick up the Cap Preview book. I think what I liked about it was seeing parents with their kids. I don't understand why any comic book store wouldn't want to do this every year. It's a hell of a lot more nicer and civilized then Record Store Day I can tell you that. Just families having fun at the 2 locations I went to today. Managed to pick up some variant covers on some back issues at basically 60% off the back issue prices. Ended up at the original price on the covers of those variant covers. One place I didn't get into had a line going out the door and when I said I just wanted to shop and not get any FCB they said that the line was to get into the store. Sort of ticked me off...but I guess they had to for Fire Marshall rules. Overall a nice day for a lot of happy kids and adults that are still kids

I got Suicide Squad, DC Super Hero Girls, Cap, Civil War, Rom, Street Fighter & Serenity.

It's funny. We have 2 comic shops in town directly across the street from each other. One allows you 5 free books and the other only 2 free ones. Fun time though.

Today at Hastings, there website says they open up at 9am so I get there at 8am to make sure this year I could get my comics. When I get there they changed there hours and would not be open till 10am. So I have to wait till then. When they open up people acted crazy but we were allowed to get 7 comics per person. So I did managed to get what I wanted. The nightmare came at the checkout, it took close to an hour to get checkout because they only had one cashier. They also had a special on there used trade paperback. No matter the price they were $4.99. So I got

*Marvel Star-Lord collected works from his old magazines
                *Marvel Revolutionary War
                *DC Comics The Kents

I grabbed a Captain America tribute magazine which was really cool. My kids cleaned up so I just read their stuff.

I live in a small college town that you would think would have more of a market for comics/gaming and such. However, we only have one small shop and it is primarily a hangout for rpg folks. They only allow one book per person, which makes the pick pretty tough. I try to buy something from the store whenever we go in for the Free comic day, but there really is almost nothing there if you are not on a subscription list for new titles. I looked through the 4 boxes of vintage and came up with nothing, so I bought a short storage box for my kids to organize the comics we have at home. We managed an eclectic mix for this FCBD. Camp Midnight, Doctor Who, One Punch Man, and Grumpy Cat. I was pretty amazed that my son went for the grumpy cat when there was a book with an Aliens story in it.
