Trailer looks pretty cool. I'm not much of a manga/anime fan like I used to be, but really enjoyed the Ghost in the Shell manga and anime back in the day, so I'm interested in seeing this. Batou looked pretty neat.
Goggly eyed smilie reaction for Asian Superman...but perfectly fine with Caucasian playing Motoko?
Sorry, this can't be a one way street...
You're right...that's why I'm loving the reversal for a change.
Black Baron Mordo, Jimmy Olsen, Kid Flash, Perry White, Heimdall, Kingpin, Nick Fury, Human Torch, Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Korean Hulk, Muslim Ms. Marvel...need I go on?
Don't wanna hear it.
For years all I've heard is "But...but, race doesn't matter as long as it's the best person for the role!"
Well there ya go. I can't think of a better, more talented actress than Scarlett.

How about before all that?
White actors playing rogue black Union soldiers in Birth of a Nation? Paul Muni playing Benito Juarez? Marlon Brando playing Emiliano Zapata? And those were not fictional characters. Charlie Chan? All those Egyptian movies with not a dark face on sight except as slaves? Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra? Well, maybe not that one...as more than likely, Cleopatra was of Greek origin, but you get the drift. Oh, one last one, Robbie Benson in brown face with brown contacts, playing a Chicano, that one was kinda funny, lol.
You forgot the best one of all, John Wayne playing Genghis Khan

Well, at least Karloff played Wong straight, he performed the character with respect (given the times)...nothing over the top like Mickey Rooney did as I. Y. Yunioshi...in Breakfast at Tiffany's...that was a real stereotypical caricature of a character right there. Still love that movie though...Audrey Hepburn at her best...I adore her...
