WB Video's Filmation issues always feature crappy ersatz art, it's mystifying.

Well I will be getting this, it has created a hole in my collection for far to long.

Picked this up yesterday and while the picture is better than any secondary copies I have owned, it was not cleaned up so there are a few issues, most notably in the first fifteen minutes or so. There's this annoying white line that runs through the picture. Plus during the Viking episode there is a hard edit omitting a piece of the story. I know, because I have 24 of the original episodes complete. This commercial release offers 16. Officially there are 32 episodes if you count the 11 minute episodes that were made from a double bill with the new adventures of Batman back in the day. The two disc set is okay and I'm glad I have it in the collection, but a bit disappointed the studio did't give it a basic cleaning of any distracting imperfections from the master tape.

^ Admittedly, all that does sound disappointing, but I'll still get it as a placeholder.

There's nothing worse than getting a long-demanded release that is half-arsed. That's just shoddy.
