Affleck will be directing it...he will have full control. He's not only actor/director, but he's a Batman fan as well.

He has proven to be an excellent director.

    It's going to rock...

Since The Batman in BvS is an older, more grizzled Dark Knight, I'm wondering if the stand alone film will feature a somewhat younger Bruce Wayne/Batman, not necessarily at the onset of his career, but at more of a midpoint. Who knows, maybe it would even afford us an opportunity to see the classic blue-and-gray suit with white eyes on the big screen plus Affleck wouldn't have to have his graying temples...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

They are going back and telling Wonder Woman's story leading up to Superman V Batman, I guess they could do the same with Batman too. Particularly if they are planting hints into this film... maybe the Joker vandalized Robin suit is an easter egg in that respect?

I think they need to stop telling origin stories mixed into the Films... for Marvel it Killed the Spiderman and Fantastic 4 Franchises. I think people are tired and board to death of it and they have no place in these films going forward.

Looking forward to the Affleck Batman. Evidently he and Geoff Johns, DC Chief Creative Officer and comic book writer, are writing the script. Affleck said he wasn't sure if he would direct it or not. Directing and starring in a Batman movie might more than what he would want to take on, according to the interview, but no doubt he'd have huge say in it whether directing or not.

With the poor reviews for B vs S, I hope it makes enough for WB not to pull the plug on another Batman movie.

I thought Affleck did a great job. Most comic-like Batman ever in that he was a detective and could move fluidly in the costume. I do hope whenever the the movie is set, that we get a less disillusioned version of Batman, one just as capable and intense, but one less cold-hearted and with more empathy.
