Never thought there would be weeks where I walk into a comic store on Wednesday and not pick anything up, but this is happening with increasing frequency in my old age. I really dug this first issue of the new Power Man and Iron Fist though. I think it's got a perfect balance between reverence for the original source material that codgers like me appreciate, with a more contemporary look and feel for a potential new audience.
If they capture a similar action buddy comedy tone for the upcoming Netflix series, then I'd be happy.
Really dig Iron Fist's Game of Death style suit (particularly the sneakers), and Cage's return to a yellow shirt that doesn't look ridiculous (particularly paired with tailored business outfit rather than shirt/jeans street clothes).
Also, Cage has a VERY compelling reason for all his silly made-up slang this time around. "Fiddle Faddle" etc. It was a laugh out loud moment for me.
We also learn the fate of Jennie Royce, their former admin at Heroes for Hire. The Villains in this issue will be a kick for long time PM/IF readers too.
