Cartoon Network Announces Justice League Action

This makes me want to watch the JLU episodes all over again. Think I'll do that.

"Justice League Action marks the return of Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series), beloved by fans worldwide as one of the most iconic voices of Batman, to a weekly-animated television series. The series will also deliver an all-star lineup of regular and guest cast voices, including Mark Hamill as Joker, James Woods as Lex Luthor, Diedrich Bader as Booster Gold and many more portraying your favorite DC Comics Super Heroes and Super-Villains. Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!) serves as executive producer with Butch Lukic (Justice League, Batman Beyond), Alan Burnett (Batman: The Animated Series) and Jim Krieg (Green Lantern: The Animated Series) serving as producers."

Too bad the animation looks like more of the same stylized crapola we've seen for years now. What I wouldn't give to see cartoons look like real people again.

It's more stylized looking than BTAS through JLU, but with these guys behind it, I think it will be good. I disliked the BTAS designs when I first saw them, but they were ideal for animation.

Well, w/ all the animated stuff today looking like CGI, at least this is actually a cartoon! I wonder how it will measure up to the SuperFriends. I never watched Batman TAS, but I may give this a shot.

In a way,the style reminds me of the one from the shorts that had Supergirl,Batgirl and Wonder Woman.

I just died a little inside. As much as I love Super Friends (I'm currently wearing a Super Friends watch), it is to Batman: The Animated Series what Flank Steak is to Filet Mignon.

                    Can I help it if I'm old-school?

BTAS is now 23 years old. It's pretty old school too.

Seriously, I really recommend it. Even if it wasn't Batman, I'd still consider it the greatest animated TV series ever made. The follow-up series, Superman, Batman Beyond, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited are nearly as good, but BTAS covered so many different types of stories, and they were appealing to adults, while still being accessible to kids. No small feat.

Timm and his cohorts did DC better than DC did DC throughout the course of those toons.

^I wish DC would give DiDio, Johns and Lee their walking papers and give the whole shebang over to Timm, Burnett, Dini, Radomski, etc.

Joker and Riddler have been cast:

Star Trek veteran Brent Spiner, who played Data in The Next Generation and the subsequent films, is voicing the Riddler in Justice League Action. Spiner announced the news on the Comic Book Central podcast. Spiner has previously voiced the Joker in another DC animated series, Young Justice.

Said Spiner of the switch from the Joker to the Riddler, "There’s a new Justice League coming on, and [Mark Hamill] decided this time he wanted to the Joker, so I ended up doing the Riddler. I’ve only done one episode, but then I only did one episode of the Joker too."
