That's the kind of thing that makes me glad I don't read current comic books anymore.

they might as well throw in the towel and just concentrate on putting their characters out in other media

At this point, their best bet would be to just start clean, from the start with each character, and slowly rebuild the universe. But they aren't going to do that. It leaves too much money on the table for too long, and the WB bean counters won't allow it. They have so damaged their properties in comics that the only viable solution is a true back to basics approach, with top creators on only a handful of titles to begin with. But again, it's not going to happen.

I just hope the ugly-arse New 52 designs, and DC YOU REdesigns go away and are forgotten, like Electric Blue Superman.

I quit collecting DC comics when the Green Lantern , Red lanterns , Black lanterns stuff started before the New 52 . DC had so many Crisis events that I could'nt keep up.
I miss the old days when companies could tell a good story in a book like The Korvac saga in old Avengers or Kree / Skrull war.

I gave up when "Brightest Day" was more of the same exploitation and gratuitous middle school blood and gore masquerading as "adult reading".

I quit reading new comics two years ago.
They can change Batman to Fruitbat for all I care. "To the Fruitmobile, Pineapple Boy!"

Doesn't affect me much...I quit DC 52 issues ago...however, if DC wants to make Flash & Green Arrow just like the tv versions I wouldn't be upset. THOSE characters are done well.
What DC really needs to relaunch is it's management. Finally can Didio & Lee. Perhaps we are going to see Johns take control, as per him being front & center on the tv special last week, and not either of the other two.

They should do this each month. It couldn't hurt any worse than what they've been doing. #1 issues every month I say

Dan Didio, jeez I can't stand him. And Lee, whose style is as overblown as his own ego. If the best DC Comics can do is ape their own diffuse media properties, that's the cart before the horse IMO.

We'll see. Since I'm not impressed so far with the modern movie handling of Batman, Superman, and Aquaman, I'm not optimistic. I've been reading Aquaman all along, but it can be easy to drop your only book.

They did it to themselves. I've been harping on this for the better part of the last year or so. DC is UNRECOGNIZABLE to older readers. This is what the bean counters wanted over at WB. They got exactly what they deserved. Starting over again is going to do absolutely nothing...they've hurt their entire brand of DC Comics. I've said it before...Marvel is at least TRYING to keep some of their older readers. DC basically spit in the face of the older readers by putting people in charge that have probably never picked up a comic book in their life. You can't stay tethered to the past all the time...but you can't just cut the rope so to speak. It's sad...but it was going to happen sooner or later. Haven't spent a penny on DC in the last 2 years and don't intend on spending anything on them now. Unless they truly intend on bringing some of the books like JSA back to what they were or a few others back to the way they were pre 52...they will never see a penny from me ever again. Make more bad movies for all I care. I hope they don't F Up the TV series that are going so well right now. I watch basically Gotham, Flash, and Arrow and that's basically it. Still enjoying those shows and I hope DC doesn't ruin them. Knowing the way they are run...they probably will.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                        The beauty that surrounds them
                        Isn't it a pity".

I'm down to one DC title, Fables Wolf among Us.

Given that Marvel is pretty much doing the same thing by pumping out a new #1 as often as they can (I've bought TWO different Howard the Duck #1's and Squirrel Girl #1's by the exact same creative teams this year because Secret Wars relaunched every title, even those that hadn't even hit double digits yet). I think the next logical step is getting rid of numbering all together so EVERY issue can be numbered #1.

Marvel seems to be owning it at least.

With Batman '66 now a series of specials and crossovers, DC gets no monthly dollars from me. Cindy buys DC Bombshells (which I just read...it's not good) and Dani gets Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo Team-Up. Andrew picks up some of the Flash TV series comics from time to time. Considering I used to buy ALL the Batman and Superman-related titles, plus JLA and many other sundery comics, that's pathetic.
