Meh. Definitely a rental for me. Adding the Queen song just feels like they're trying too hard to be GOTG. -
DC is just trying so hard..... and it shows...
Love the song, but on this trailer just ugh.....Comment

Looked and sounded great to me. No harm in banking off folks love for Queen. It's not trying too hard; it was just smart. WB/DC was also smart to get Suicide Squad out before Marvel made it down the line to Thunderbolts. I think the movie's going to do better than most think.Comment

Still not sold on grilled-out Joker, but given what DC's done to him in the comics, he's downright traditional. THIS film is one where DC's tendency for dark, murky, depressing cinema can really shine...but oddly enough it will probably have the best sense of humor of their films as well. It doesn't actually look half bad...I'm just not overly interested in THIS type of film.

Yeah, I will admit, watching the three specials last night gave me the following feelings:
1) I am engaged and looking forward to Civil War because Marvel have nailed Captain America IMO.
2) Legends of Tomorrow looks like something I will enjoy.
3) I'm slightly more optimistic about the DC movies but still kind of put off by their dire tone. They have my most beloved characters but sort of seem....embarrassed by them.
Of the three films shown, Wonder Woman looks the most interesting with it's WW2 setting. Suicide Squad looks a little too "hot topic" for me but maybe it should be all gritty? I'm going to see it.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

The SUICIDE SQUAD trailer piqued my interest ever so slightly, but, as cockyhoskins mentioned, I think hooking a 70's song into it made it reek of GOTG copycatism. Liked most of the characters I saw, but still not big on this new, gangsta Joker they're pedaling. Kudos to them for casting Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn; her sex appeal alone may keep male fanboys coming back for more. And I have a feeling that the snippet of the scene they showed with Batman will likely take place early in the film, perhaps even prior to the title showing up onscreen, providing the story tellers and director a way of getting The Joker and Harley into Arkham (or where ever they wind up). Interesting comment from Geoff Johns that The Joker is really not a member of the SQUAD; makes me think he's going to wind up being a bit more of a puppet master.Last edited by emeraldknight47; Jan 20, '16, 8:11 PM.sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

The Hot Topic reference is dead on, it's all cosplay looking stuff to my eyes.Comment
