Just posted this on Facebook and figured I'd start a thread here on the subject of promo items for comic book series or mini series. Here is an oddball one that I just dug up while cleaning the house. I forgot I even had it and have no clue where I got it from. May have gotten it from my old comic store when Infinity Gauntlet came out. I present to you The Infinity Gauntlet Frisbee:

Way back in 1983, DC's Vigilante book was debuting, and I remember picking it up at my comic shop. There was a Vigilante postcard included with purchase..

I have that postcard. They also did one for Omega Men and there was the Justice League set by George Perez. Although I think the Justice League set started out as a promo set and then was available for purchase at some point.

Marvel did a promo superball not long ago for the Original Sin storyline, they looked like glow in the dark eyeballs (replicas of the Watcher's eye).
I have a few promos, among my favorites are a hanging mobile of the Justice League from the 1990s JLA run, and wayback when in the late 80s they made replica SHIELD and Avengers id cards. Another cool one was fake vampire teeth for the Midnight Sons Morbius series.

it got a bit out of hand, but all the Green Lantern ring promos along with the Legion Flight ring were some of my favourite give-aways.





This glow in the dark one from the nineties was awesome as well.

You can't forget the Death of Superman black armband that came with the "deluxe" version of Superman #75, among other goodies.

When they did that GL ring for the launch of Mosaic in the 90s, I was ecstatic.


I worked at a comic shop in the late 90s, and still have quite a few of the in-store promo items, including posters, mobiles, etc. The Morrison/Porter JLA launch included a mobile with a beauty shot of each one of the "Magnificent 7".

Were those just reissues of the DC Direct figure pack-in ring? The DCD rings looked more bronzey, and less yellow-gold. No white on the ones I have.

I remember my comic store had Watchmen button badges back when that series was first out.
