I feel the same way I did for Superman/Batman...MEH...I don't hate it, but I don't see why people are going Ga-Ga over it either.

Never saw the big-deal about Apocalypse...He looks way too cartoonish...a poor man's Death Loving version of Thanos...and

...the 4 Horsemen are Magneto, Storm, Psylocke, & Archangel? ...really?

Would be nice if they introduce Caliban as his Mutant Hellhound, but I don't think that will happen.

I can't see them using 'Wolverine' as Death, and using that as a means of re-introducing his Adamantium is really kinda lame...especially if this is Jackman's last run on the Character.

Looks like another 'cheap' matinee, if I have nothing else better to do, kinda flick.

This has turned into The Hunger X-Men Games, starring Jennifer Lawrence and her little co-stars. Mystique is suddenly now the most important and featured mutant in the Marvel Universe, lol...

              ::sighs::

I really really really wish I could say I was into this, but I would be lying.

There seems to be a lot of people standing around looking "cool," a lot of people screaming or yelling, Jennifer Lawrence (never, ever as hot at Romijn-Stamis' Mystique) as yet another angst ridden leader, more X-Men reduced to virtually "kid" level, a Magneto who would do another mutant's bidding (not bloody likely, Uncle Apocalypse, keep your eyes open around him), more hate for bridges and, of course, another excuse to haul Wolverine out as an effort to make the movie more appealing.

I watched "DOFP." It was okay. The Sentinels looked goofy as heck and the story---well, let's just say it was absolutely ZERO like the story I read by the same name back in the day. That story was the only thing that really drew me to DOFP.

Apocalypse came after I and the merry mutants had already parted ways, so what I know about him is pretty limited. I know his appearance is straight up late 80s/90s X-Men under the tutelage of future IMAGE artists/writers. From what I saw of him, he seemed way more like a behind-the-scenes puppet-master than a direct threat. This movie doesn't do anything to change my opinion of him; as a matter of fact, it makes him basically seem more like another petty-minded villain whose goal is to "rid the world of mankind" so he and his ilk can start all over. That's a worn out trope and we all know that, when the human race disappears, the bugs (or maybe the dandelions) are going to inherit the earth.

If and when I see this, it'll be on cable or on FX, complete with commercials.

Waiting for the day when MARVEL and Disney man-up, buy the rights for the X-Men and all that goes with them back and then delivers the X-MEN movie I'm still patiently waiting for...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Agreed. I watch and enjoy (to an extent) the Fox X-Men pictures, but I've always hoped one day we'll get a cinematic X-Men universe closer to the comics.

This looks good to me. Not a huge X-Men guy, but I've enjoyed all of the movies (yes, even X3 and the two Wolverines) enough to feel them worthy of a weekend matinee. X2, First Class and Days of Future Past being the best, of course.

I'm in, I like the stuff Singer does with the X-People (non Singer projects, enh, no so much). The whole family goes to these.

That last X -Trailer has way too many spoilers. Hope they kept something for when were watching the movie.

Eh, I'm still gonna see it, I liked DOFP so I'm interested in seeing what Singer does here. I agree that the J Law content seems too high though, Mystique was never this big a deal in the comics I read, but hey, it's all about the marketing these days.

Apparently Fox got the message and have been doing post-work to make Apocalypse closer to...well, Apocalypse.

Voice, eyes, re-colorized...smdh...the easiest character in the X world to envision and Singer and co. still thought they could improve on it.

                          I love the height excuse...

I could have made him a giant through the whole movie, or some muscle-bound guy who can't act -- I could always do that. But the reality is, among his many powers -- and you will see him change size -- but among his many powers is his power of persuasion, and it was very important that he'd be able to connect with his horsemen, at their level
That, ladies and gents, are the comments of a very ****y man who's apparently feeling the reverb from Tranks reimagining and ain't happy about it.

I love the either/or he puts forth. As if his choices were Batista or Oscar Issac and nothing else.

Well, the Critic's are ripping on this movie HARD....but this reviewer says it's geared more to the Comic book fans and not the general audiences. So if you're already an X-Men fan, then you'll probably like it. Ok...that works for me.

If that was true, Singer wouldn't have radically altered Apocalypse. He's always been dgaf when it comes to the fans.

This is another in a long line of productions where a main producer doesn't like a concept, but it's the only thing they can get financed, so they shape the material to what they find interesting.

The upside is Singer has really learned to shoot action sequences.
