Think it looks pretty good. Really don't like Eisenberg as Luthor, but I hope I'm wrong.

Not saying Doomsday looks great, but it instantly reads Doomsday. In the comics, didn't Doomsday adapt and grow more of a bony exoskeleton as a defense mechanism? Maybe the same will happen with this guy.
I liked or at least was OK with just about everything I saw other than Eisenberg's Riddler-like performance as Luthor. He went Full Gorshin in the Tropical Thunder sense.
Heck, WB should have got Donald Trump to play Luthor. He basically is Luthor.Last edited by madmarva; Dec 4, '15, 8:39 PM.Comment

I like the Eisenberg Luthor treatment so far and here's why. All past versions of Lex have him out of the public eye. Gene Hackman lives underground and Spacey on a yacht far away from public scrutiny. This portrayal has him as the proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing. He's a predator among the groups that flock around him yet all they see is an affable, eccentric billionaire. He's not the future ruler of Australia, he's the scientist anarchist the world doesn't know exists. He's underestimated and will totally use that to his advantage.
Doomsday will totally fill out the bone structure as the spines are already there for growth. This looks pretty intense, and now I'm sold on it. Not Force Awakens sold, but I'm seriously looking forward to this and feel less skeptical.I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.Comment

like he actually has some chance? but in reality he has no chance. They can team up without fighting, let them
rather have a battle of egos instead while fighting the villan.
When I see the title Batman V Superman, I think fighting, Batman the mortal has no chance, so it's a bit confusing.
IMO are they really truely friends or just put up with each other since they share a common goal?Comment

Hector - I didn't say Rousey as WW. The culture is aware of how female athletes are built. Look at the three women who passed Ranger school. They should have aimed for someone closer to Gina Carano. I'm convinced there's a working stuntwoman who emodies WW.
Can not believe I am reading opinions about Wonder Woman's looks. Wow. Someone please define sexism here for me. Sheesh. Personally, I am interested in how her character, &strength of character, is written and develops. And for what it's worth, the actress is stunning as an Amazon: It's about quality of acting, and a (an albeit fantasy-based) believably conveyed development of character. The character has many heights and body types in many offerings; um, do such details not also apply to different takes on Batman and Superman? I can imagine boiling down Superman and Batman's actor-first-impressions to whether or not they are pretty. Scoff. Oh, and incidentally, where's Aquaman already?
After she was cast, they pushed back. She served in IDF. Snyder said she was going to get ripped and buff but she never was because it would effect her other acting offers. The truth is, she was cast for three reasons. First, she's considered a blue chip, which all studios want under contract because other studios want to hire them, they don't have star power yet, and come cheap. Second, Gadot came in second for MOS casting as Faora, and was considered for Lois. Third, Ratner digs her and he's paying for the DC movies.
My point is, it had nothing to do with character development, or acting quality. Her biggest role to date was wearing hotness in a F&F sequel. WB didn't even search for anyone else. They handed her the role because she was in good with the right people. And sadly, that's how it usually goes. I could rattle off a list that had nothing to do with talent.
So here I am, saying they should have cast a female based on physical empowerment first, model-beauty second...and I'm the sexist? I work with female athletes, grade school to college, on my own time. They deal with body image at all ages. WW should have been an identifier. That's half of Rousey's appeal; athletic girls identify. Gadot is just another in a line of waifs, but here, she's playing most iconic fighting female and it wasn't even a consideration.
Is there where I insert snark to show my PC superiority?Comment

You know what would have cranked WW's appearance up to 11 for me? If that slow reveal after the blast would have shown she used her BRACELETS to deflect it.
The little things the filmmakers always seem to miss . . .Comment

Hollywood is all about image and looks...it's kinda rather silly to even discuss this, lol...
What annoy me to no end (okay, more like it amuses me) when someone is trying to dictate me how to express myself at beauty...like if I have to walk on eggshells. I can't make one measly comment like, hey, she's a stunner, a beauty, hot, etc...because I'll be labeled sexist by the PC Patrol. All my comments towards Gal Gadot is about praising her beauty, and I'm a bad guy. I'd understand if I said crude and crass things like, "I wanna bang her", I'd hit that all over the place", etc...but no...all my praises are innocent enough. We have been going gaga for Lynda Carter (who by the way, was also skinny) for decades...I guess most of us here are demented sexist pigs, lol.
Gadot is my Wonder Woman now, and she's a stunner, end of story...

Getting back to the subject at hand and less about the aesthetics of beauty (which, as we all know, is only skin deep), I watched the trailer again. I had presumed that, in this movie, Bruce Wayne had retired The Batman and was trying to live a normal life. So I guess my question would be, if The Batman has been retired, why would Clark be asking Bruce about the actions of the "bat vigilante" as if the events are current? I was under the impression that Superman's appearance and actions in "Man Of Steel" are what bring Wayne OUT of retirement as The Batman. Any theories?
I'd also like to know what the time frame is between this movie and the events in MOS, because Metropolis looks pretty rebuilt from what we see of it. Has Clark been singlehandedly been rebuilding Metropolis in his free time? Also wondering if the shot we see of Doomsday landing and shooting presumably heat vision at Supes and Batty takes place in either Gotham or Metropolis? Either city, it looks like they're going to wind up dealing with even more MOS level destruction. Ah well, I guess it keeps contractors busy!sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment
