I was catching up with Gotham with Fox on Demand and they had an ad for an upcoming series called 'Lucifer'. Is this series based on the DC/Vertigo comic book? If so...Oh Yeah!!

Fox's Lucifer...Based on Vertigo Book?

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see

I watched the leaked pilot a few months ago, it's very, very loosely based on the comic. Like in the comic, Lucifer has abandoned Hell and runs a nightclub in LA, but that's where the similarity mostly ends. After that, it seems to become a show where Lucifer teams up with a police detective to solve crimes. (?!?) If they are going to stray that far away from the original source, I don't know why they bothered licensing this from DC, Lucifer is a public domain character after all. -
Yeah...Looks like I might have to pass on this show then. As much liberty CW takes with Arrow and Flash...they stay true to the character as much as they can. It's sad that other networks can't. That said I still love what Fox has done with Gotham."When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".
