After getting a Batman sketch by Neal Adams and a full Wonder Woman drawing by Jose Delbo, the next Hero I wanted to get was my favorite, Spider-Man. This presented a problem. How to get "My" Spider-Man whose look was created by John Romita, Sr. Of course the artist who took over for Romita, one of the all-time greats Ross Andru has not been with us for many years. I remembered Romita, JR, drawing the book when I started reading it in the early 80's but he rarely does commissions and when he does it looks like Spidey from the 90's. Any original art from these folks is pricey. I started rifling through my run and Bingo! From issue 186 in 1978 to the early 200's in 1980, Keith Pollard took over the book, did some nice Spidey art, some covers and was the artist when the Black Cat was introduced. Also didn't set me back like a normal commission would as he is only doing pencils, right now.
