I enjoyed both episodes, and them taking everyone out was an interesting way to go. Oliver has made bone-headed decisions since episode 1 of Arrow, so not really surprised to see him make the wrong choice by not telling Felicity about his kid. And why wasn't that kid named Connor?

The Hawks' origin was a bit muddy. I'd have to rewatch, but I'm thinking that the combination of the mystical objects, Shayera's prayer, Vandal's curse, and the meteor all worked together to set up the Hawks and their regeneration cycle.

They probably did bite off more than they could chew, but it was a lot of fun. I mean, it was a freaking Justice League episode. Flash, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Hawkman and Hawkgirl, with added-in Speedy and Vibe. Plus Diggle. Not too shabby.

Second part wasn't as enjoyable as the first for me. The subplot with Oliver's kid could have waited until the second half of the season, same with the Wells /Patty/Jay bit. We didn't really need the time travel bit, but I suppose it's the key to getting Rip Hunter's attention.
This crossover really should have been more action oriented, and full of traps. God help me, I so want to see Green Arrow & Speedy chained up and being slowly lowered into a vat of candlewax!
So is there a secret bank account somewhere that Oliver's mom had? Because if the girl never cashed the check isn't that cash out there sitting? Otherwise the Queen accountants would have caught it, right? Or was a million bucks nothing to the Queens? Oliver's pretty quick to spend Felicity's (really Ray's) money. Did he just literally buy the farm so they could hide there?

Merlin's gonna throw Vandal Dust into some form of Lazarus water I bet. Unless he has a Bat-re-hydrating machine...
Lastly, glad Hawkgirl left...too weird with Cisco puppy doggin' her. They had coffee twice and she's his forever girl...gotta be his first date ever. And forget security at CC Jitters- apparently if they hire you you get the keys to the building and authorization to use the place for whatever you like. There's no alarm system either as they just open the door and go about whatever. Kendra worked there for two weeks...she told Cisco she started last week when they went to the movie, and on the episode last night it was a week later. And Iris used CC to talk to Flash during the 1st season. No wonder Central City has so many thieves & crooks. Everything's just walk-in!

Does anyone else think Laurel looks goofy when she uses the Canary Cry?

Yeah, it doesn't translate really well to TV does it?

I thought the whole jumping off the building sequence was completely ridiculous. She tries it the first time and it doesn't work, which is met with Hawkman saying, "Hmmm, it always worked before. You must be doing something wrong" to which Arrow says, " I know this sounds weird, but I think Hawkman is right..." ???? WHERE did that line of reasoning come from? The writing got REAL lazy last night. Every character essentially said, " You're suppose to become a superhero. Just do it. Roll Nike commercial." And what is with Hawkman's Vin Diesel portrayal for the Egyptian scenes? Wouldn't he read a little exotic for the times? Eh... it leaned heavily on costumes-with-no-brain last night. And what on earth was up with Oliver Queen? He gets a second chance to make it right with Felicity but keeps his son a secret anyway? Both my wife and I just looked at each other and said, "What?" And yes, the security at Star labs is back to being a bad story device to create new plot points. I've never seen a more inviting secret headquarters in my life. Everyone must know Barry is the Flash by now. That whole episode felt mailed in.
            I love you, man...

Yes, if they only fix that bloody security on both labs, everything else can have loopholes...and I'd be fine with that.

Yes, Cisco was really coming across as both annoying and creepy. Dude thought he had first dibs with Hawkgirl with his two coffee sessions with her...damn her 4000 year relationship with Hawkman...

I didn't get that at all. The guy was in prison for like over 15 years. He wanted to get back to having a life and putting the ordeal behind him.
His son is grown and has a job, a family, etc. What would Henry do, sit around all day and wait to hang with Barry?
Heck, i'm at work 6 days a week and when my one off day come, I try to get far away from work as possible.
He was just doing the same IMHO....

The episode was fun, and it was ok how they tied Savage to the Hawk's origin to save on time. Still wasn't feeling poor man's British Hawkman though....
IF they were going with the Earth 2 Hawks I like how Johns / Goyer handled their portrayal...still i guess it works better than having Aliens....
And looking at Hawkgirl just made we wish it was Maria Callas in the suit.

I'm glad William isn't Connor, despite the obvious, it'll be better if and when they do the real Connor....

Best part was Barry Time Travelling again...that is going to be a setup for something down the line I bet.....

I would not expect Henry to sit around all day and wait for Barry, that is an unreasonable expectation but, I can't believe that he would just want to go on a walkabout right after getting released from prison.

I respect your opinion but, your analogy doesn't quite fit. Working six days a week is a far different circumstance than being incarcerated for 15 plus years. While working certain jobs can feel like prison the worker of that job still gets to go home at the end of the work day and spend some time with family, friends, etc. In prison the average inmate is limited to how much contact they can have with family. I have known a few people that were in prison and upon their release the first thing they did was take the time to get reacquainted with their family and friends, then they started to rebuild a life for themselves. It is not an easy transition to go from prison life back to normal life, it takes a support system of family and friends.

I'm amazed at how close they are adhering to Geoff Johns (and David Goyer and James Robinson's) incarnation of the Hawks. I'm feeling like they would be the most likely characters to spin off into their own series following Legends of Tomorrow.

The show reminded me of the JLA-JSA team-ups when I was a kid. They were a lot of fun. We're they the most tightly written episodes? No, but I've read a lot of fun comics that relied on the same type of stuff. Fun show. Cool to see the Johns' Hawks origin, which is my favorite Hackman origin. I've got no real complaints.

Pretty decent mid-season wrap up, although I thought that the dialogue at the end between Zoom and Wells was a little anti-climactic. I thought maybe they might give us a hint at who is behind that mask, but none as of yet.

I also thought Barry was going to wind up revealing his identity to Patty after she locked him down (which, hello, where did THAT come from?) and was getting ready to shoot Weather Wizard. I'm glad he didn't, but, from the previews for the next episode it looks like life's not going to be beer and skittles for Barry and Patty, either.

And, am I the only one who thought the "weather wand" bore a resemblance to an oversized sonic screwdriver?
