Of course it has. What else would DC do except cancel the only good book they currently publish? LOL

I always felt this would be a short-lived series as a comic. I just don't think there's a large enough market to support a comic based on a show made 50 years ago. Congrats to those behind this project for keeping it alive and interesting for as long as they did. That speaks volumes to their love and intense investment to keep it relevant and true to the show. Definitely an accomplishment by any measure that matters.

You think they would have rode it out through the 50th anniversary next year, at least. Especially with the animated film due out. I guess there are going to be those one-shots and mini team-up projects. It was the only monthly comic for me in our family's pull file.

        Sigh.

Surprisingly.... I'm okay with it. I picked up half the run and then lost a little interest for some reason. I dunno. It didn't translate perfectly for me I guess. But seeing as it's now only a 30 issue run, I'll probably go and pick up the trades in hardcover.

Actually that's not true. There's also Sensation comics featuring Wonder Woman. But that's getting the ax too!

Just go watch Bambi meets Godzilla, and imagine Bambie being Batman. Same result!

Maybe they're planning a new series with a new No. 1 and several score of variant covers. Oh yeah, that's DKR III.

I don't think we've seen the last of Batman '66 in comics form. There is an animated movie in the works after all!

So what were your favourite issues? I just loved seeing Adam West interacting with so many of the villains we didn't get to see in the original TV series. Harley Quinn was particularly inspired. I think she fits in perfectly with the '66 setting given that she can be a more light hearted character.

I've enjoyed the entire series, but the Lord Death Man issue was particularly good. I'm a sucker for the character, since I've owned his first US appearance since the late 80s.

Oddly enough, one of the least campy, more serious issues of the title during the TV show period.

Aww MAN! I'm really behind so I'm gonna have to catch up on Ebay and Amazon, but this really sucks! I don't really like modern day comics that much, but this one I really enjoyed! Darn it!

That's what I was thinking. Don't despair just yet. I can virtually guarantee there will be further releases, if only a few to coincide with the movie release.
