So I gave it a shot. It's a limited series (6 issues I think) and I'm a huge fan of the original run. It is supposedly tied into whatever big event is happening in the Marvel Universe, but I really couldn't care less. All I wanted was some bizarre stories of monsters. I set the bar low for this one.
I'm 5 issues in and there are no monsters. Get that? "Monsters" is in the title, but not int he book. Occasionally we get a dinosaur, but even then it's like 1 panel per issue. The story doesn't even really involve monsters and only barely dinosaurs. It does involve a tribe of amazon women dressed in bikini tops and thongs. NOT what I was looking for in a book.
I don't fault companies for going in a new direction or changing characters up. Without that, we wouldn't have a number of events in comics that I really like. But this new Where Monsters Dwell is utter crap.
