The Flash adds a new villain and hero

Violett Beane will play the female speedster Jesse Quick. The daughter of the golden age character Johnny Quick in the source material, for the series she’s described as “a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Season 2’s big bad, Zoom.”

Man, this show is not only mining deep into the Flash mythos, but continuing to pull in Firestorm characters as well.

I like the Jesse Quick comic character. I'm curious to see if they tie her into her golden age father. But why add Atom Smasher as a villain? That's confusing me.
