I was disappointed as well. I stuck with it but thought it was contrived.

This cycled through every night on the HBO channels while we were in Florida. I sat there one night and TRIED to watch it, but it was too...uhm... aware of itself. Very artsy, and very contrived. I think too much was made of the film "looking" like it was just one continuous shot without edits. It dripped edits. For a while I thought I was watching an Ang Lee film. The acting was fine throughout, but there wasn't enough story there to hold together the visuals which desperately tried to elevate the film as some kind of optical think piece. Instead, it came off looking bloated and pretentious. Not my cup of tea.

It's one of those film experiences you only need to watch ONCE and then never see it again...if you can make it through it. I...experienced it. I can't say I enjoyed it. Michael Keaton was great in it, but it was rather artsty-fartsy just for the sake of getting attention, I think.

I tried, just couldn't. Keaton was terrific, low key and interesting. Everyone else was acting like they were in a high school production of "Our Town".

Saw it once, liked it. But once was enough. Probably very overrated by all the critics who didn't like most movies we all love

Perhaps the most misleading title since "Monster's Ball"
