Well, once again several television pilots have been leaked (or "leaked"), including Fox's loose adaptation of the DC/Vertigo comic Lucifer. Being a fan of Neil Gaiman's character of Lucifer Morningstar and the comic, I couldn't resist checking this out. Well, let's just say it's a very loose adaptation, it's more like a buddy cop procedural (a "by the book" cop teams up with a partner who plays by his own rules). Why they decided to go in this direction for the show, who knows? It's been years since I read the comic, but it wasn't like this, was it? The show follows the story where Lucifer quits Hell and opens the "Lux" nightclub in LA, but so far after that, I don't think much else is the same. If you let the show stand on it's own, it's not terrible, and the cast is likeable enough. But if you go in expecting a somewhat more faithful adaptation of the comic, well let's just say NBC's Constantine hit the mark with much more accuracy. If this becomes a hit while Constantine was cancelled, I won't be happy.
