SPOILERS — Purported detailed plot to Batman v. Superman

After reading this and then going back and watching all the trailers, this sounds like it could be the actual movie.

Yeah, I agree with you. It seems to jibe with what we've been shown and from various bits of information that have come out. Some of it could be trimmed down or out, but who knows.

If it's true...not exactly Frank Miller's Dark Knight after all...

I agree Hector, but Snyder said all along that it wasn't going to be an adaption of Dark Knight Returns, but that it would incorporate some imagery from it. The plot borrows a bit from Byrne's take on Bizzaro as well as the Church of Superman story that ran in Actions Comics in the late 80s when the book was an anthology title. The take on Luthor seems to be pulled a bit from Brian Azzerello's Lex Luthor mini series. It seems a bit like the Nolan films in that it cherry picks a lot of ideas from various comics but they are melded into it's own story.

This reads like an earlier draft before Affleck had Terrio do massive rewrites. BvS is supposed to end with a direct lead-in for Justice League. This is indirect.

I wouldn't be surprised if Luthor's stuff has been changed. It's very Marvel generic. In this plots context, Bizarro makes way more sense.

...and it reads like Ollie Queen as Batman. Where's the Joker/Robin subplot? How does a synopsis not mention Robin being killed, which is a definitive? Also no word on rebuilding the bat cave.

All good points. Films like this always seem to change while shooting, as well. I agree Bizzaro or a Bizzaro-like character would work better or at least as well as Doomsday without burning that story for future use.

Interesting...

In a recent interview with French magazine Premiere, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice production designer Patrick Tatopoulos dropped some very interesting hints about Doomsday's role in the movie, seemingly dismissing in the process the theories that it will in any way be adapting the "Death of Superman" story arc. The villain's look has obviously been fairly divisive since he first appeared in the latest trailer for the movie, but could we see him evolve in any way here? "We are able to tell a story in a fresh way," Tatopoulos explains. "Doomsday is an evolution essentially. Fans may be aware of the death of Superman story, but this is handled in such a new way."

Unfortunately, it appears as if he's referring to the evolution Doomsday goes through when Lex Luthor is transforming the body of General Zod into the near unstoppable monster rather than into something closer to his comic book counterpart during the finale battle, but the production designer's comments are still very intriguing. "When the film is called Batman v or versus Superman, it really has a lot of levels to the meaning. Superman isn't just killed off at the end of something. We see how he evolves as part of Lex's plan to protect the world. Seeing the Superman we know, be gone, and then replaced with this reproduction is really going to make fans think of how we look at these super beings. It was especially interesting to figure out, how would you create Superman from Zod... then how would that involve into Doomsday." Here's where things get even more interesting though. Tatopoulos went on to tease that there's a "larger threat" at play, while the "timeframe of how things fall into place will surprise fans" and:

Interesting... This is definitely a film I will be seeing. I just hope the movie is not completely flushed out or pirated (like Expendables III) before it hits theaters. There seems to be allot of leaks coming from this project ( if we are to believe them). I'm of the opinion ther eis probably a little bit of truth in some of this, but ultimately the movie will explain those differences. I just hope it's more fun than preachy. That is my hope.

That would be pretty interesting and tie-in nicely to Batman's fear of Superman.

But if it's true, it would have been smarter to show Bizarro and save Doomsday. That makes me think Bizarro doesn't look like "Bizarro", but just Zombie Zod, which would suck in a trailer.

This is quite similar for what was planned first for Luthor and Metallo, then Brainiac and Metallo in a MOS 2. This would also explain why MOS 2 was effectively dropped.
