lol I looked longingly at that figure, too afterwards, but didn't take the plunge.

Yep... I had to smile when I heard the guy mock Pym's "tales to astonish".Just got back! Love, love, LOVE this movie!
Fantastic fun, great characterization, small in scope yet big on spectacle...FX were truly amazing, some great classic Marvel references, and as a bonus, I picked up the Ant-Man figure with flying ant box set from TRU afterwards.
Just a PERFECT day!Comment

All the ballyhoo here made me take the family tonight, it was greatly enjoyed.
It was kind of a remake of Iron Man plot wise but had so many fun twists that it didn't matter, a really sweet movie.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

I can see that. A friend of mine was saying it felt more like a "Phase One" Marvel film, and would have fit in better in the first run of flicks. But I'd argue that the similarities to Iron Man would have jumped out even more if it was released that close to the original. Plus it would have negated some of the best and most fun in-universe references in the movie. It was kind of a remake of Iron Man plot wise but had so many fun twists that it didn't matter, a really sweet movie.

Yeah, it didn't bug me at all, the end fight sequence was a really terrific marriage of tension with laughs.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

The Garret Morris cameo seemed rather random to me at the time but now it makes perfect sense.
