This time yesterday the family and I were getting seated. Without spoiling anything, I will just say that I found it to be one of the worst movies I've seen in years. I have forgotten better family movies. If you have children in pre-school, they'll *might* enjoy it. Mine are in second grade and older, and they barely batted an eye or reacted to anything in the entire movie. They may as well have watched a filmstrip on Neil Armstrong. If we'd been watching it on DVD I think we would have bagged it and gone outside to play in the rain. I'd give it two stars, and that's generous, based on the quality of the animation and the soundtrack. For me it had absolutely nothing else going for it.

I remember seeing the first one in a very crowded theater that was drinking the Kool Aid and laughing hysterically all around my family and me. For whatever reason, they just did not hit our funny bones. At all. But props to whoever came up with such a simple, marketable concept.Comment

I think the Minions work best as sidekicks in a movie, but not as the main atttraction.
I liked Despicable I and II, but I'm hesitant about this new one..

My daughter got to see it yesterday, and she--apparently--loved it. She's 7 1/2.Comment

I saw the Sponge Bob movie about 6 months ago. It was worse. I actually didn't hate Minions. My biggest complaint is that with so many trailers, they showed the best bits from the first third of the movie. But I would say this is for Minion lovers only, and 7 1/2 year olds.Comment

My 13 year old went an saw Minions and said it was good, but hasn't talked much about it, so I will have to take his word for it as being "good".Comment

Saw it with my 9 year old., and we loved it. As far suggesting this is worst movie of decade and such is mind numbing.. We're you expecting citizen cane of animation? It is exactly what it should be , a fun family movie that actually had great songs and adult gags.

Haven't seen MINIONS, nor is it on my agenda to drop theater bucks on. I've enjoyed the Minions appearances in the Despicable Me movies (although, I think Megamind may've coined the term for his little helper first, not sure). I would imagine MINIONS would definitely have a strong appeal to the ten and under demographic. I know there's certainly no lack of merchandise for the movie. Between it, Inside Out and Frozen, the stores shelves are brimming over with animated movie trinkets...sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment
