I take it that the Flash doesn't have 2 movies in a year? Must be Captain Marvel. I refuse to call him Shazam. I thought there was supposed to be another Superman solo movie in there somewhere? You must try to generate happiness within yourself. What's the bolt symbol below Flash...because it looks just like The Flash.
11 of those are shooting or in post-production.
Inhumans is one of those projects that until I see Vin Diesel with wings, it's a placeholder. Like JLA 2 and FF2.
...notice how there's no Ant-Man 2 listed...I'll be mildly surprised if they move ahead with Thor 3. Unless it's integral to Infinity, they would be better off moving Black Panther to that date.
Interesting to see that Marvel, without X or FF characters, is reaching the end run of their main stable. Sort of explains Feige's recent comments about trying to get Namor's rights back from Universal.Comment

I only saw 3 of these in the theaters. Supes (2) and Batman.
Notice that from birth to age 11 -there were exactly ZERO theatrically released films
Only one release before middle school for me.
Middle school/High school there were 5. That is 5 in 8 years and that includes Superman 3 and Supergirl.
90's was a bit better but I only was excited to see 6 of them in the theaters Bats (3), Spawn, Phantom and Blade
Not many big name hitters

In the 2000s it exploded
2000-2009 18 Marvel releases and 8 from DC -alone that is 2.6 per year
2010 -2019 34 Marvel and 12 from DC - from the big 2 alone this is 4.6 per year.
80s it was .6 per year DC/Marvel
90's it was only .6 per year DC/marvel but many other publishers put out good filmsLast edited by Brue; Jun 8, '15, 8:16 PM.Comment

April 2019 could be Flash Gordon? Interesting to see Black Panther, wonder who they will
get to play the title roll? July 2018 looks like maybe Aquaman? although these are supposedly in
the future works, I just wonder how many do actually get made?Comment

I think the person who posted the image collage used the Flash's symbol where he should have used the Captain Marvel symbol. I said 2020 for SHAZAM but it looks like it is 2019.Comment

An interesting line-up, but it will only hold together if the studios and comics companies can find ways of keeping the public interested in, when it's said a done, different variations on a single theme. I think in order to do this, they're going to need to go way out of their comfort zones and find some really cutting edge directors who can brings the characters to the screen in a way that hasn't been done to death, but still maintains the integrity of the characters and where they came from.sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

Nice graphic depiction of who has the rights to what, but I think whomever created it forgot that, since 20th Century Fox owns the film rights to the FF, it also, unfortunately has the rights to other great, but FF affiliated characters like Galactus, Kang the Conqueror, the Skrulls and Annihilus. Same scenario with X-MEN. Because of their ownership of rights to that franchise, we'll likely never see MCU versions of the Shi'ar, the Imperial Guard or the Star Jammers, all of whom could've been cool as hell in a GotG movie...sigpic Oh then, what's this? It seems like a lot but in the context of the period of time they are coming out over, it's not over the top yet, IMO.Comment

This CBR article is from last week and does nice breakdown as to how opaque things really are. I've seen that graphic, it over-simplifies.
I think the "Kang is off-limits, but Black Panther is not" issue is easier to understand as Marvel had turned Panther into a solo license at least fifteen years ago. It was part of the original, huge Lionsgate deal they made post-Spidey release.
What I found interesting is a possible Inhumans problem. Marvel had never distinguished those rights until the SDCC announcement in '12, which was part of the Witch/Silver flareup. If Fox is nudging Marvel on core Inhumans characters, that would explain Marvel's hardball actions towards X and FF properties better than anything else. It would really explain why they've been playing the non-denial game about Vin as Black Bolt. I've never understood why Marvel wouldn't announce he's on board, but will say he's signed for two projects.Comment
