Me, personally I don't know what is so confusing about it. I guess it is kind of like those people that watch Soap Operas and are a fan of the soap and quit watching it for years and try to jump back on ship and get mad when they can't figure out the plot. I have been reading comics since I was in the 2nd grade and I have a pretty good feel for who's who in the Marvel and DC Universe. I am not trying to put anyone down or anything it is just a matter of who follows comic books and who doesn't.
To me, keeping the characters the same for the next 50 years would suck. I would just read Archie comics if I wanted my characters boring and ageless for the next two decades.
Just my two cents. I hope I didn't offend anyone. Not my intention.More custom Mego madness on Facebook right here...

When I hear of like Earth two/three and Jason Todd coming back from the Dead to hate everyone as Red Robin, and like two origins for him, and Tim Drake becoming a new Robin, and Dick Grayosn hating Batman as Nightwing, and blah blah blah, it just turns my perception of the comic world completely upside down since I haven't read up to understanding that yet! So right now, it's very confusing to me! (Until I eventually catch up on decades of reading. :P. Give me a break, I'm in the 40's right now!)Last edited by Overkill; Apr 10, '08, 6:19 PM.Comment

Did they ever come out with which Robin was in the Teen Titans Toon? You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

I believe at first they said he was a combination of Dick Grayson's personality and Tim Drake's fighting style. But in one episode, the name Dick Grayson flashed across the screen, and there was a scene that showed Dick's parents falling during their last performace, so overall I think Grayson wins as being that Robin.Comment

^^^ I saw that one, but they never said the name, and Tim could have been Night wing in that future. The continuity between the Timm shows and TT wasn't established until the Seven Soldiers JLU episode with the adult version of the TT Speedy showing up.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. In my little geek mind, I think Teen Titans takes place BEFORE BTAS. Dick is Robin, and is younger than he appears on BTAS. I've heard some say it takes place after BTAS, and before TNBA, and I guess that works too, if you place TT before the flashback scene in the TNBA episode "Old Wounds" where Dick gives up the Robin mantle. But that would make Dick awfully close to twenty if not older, and he sure doesn't seem that old on TT.
So timeline wise it goes: TT, BTAS, STAS/TNBA, JL/JLU/Static Shock, Batman Beyond/Zeta Project
The only wringer that is thrown into this line of thinking is an episode of "Static Shock" where Batman guest stars and mentions that Tim is "off with the Teen Titans". Static Shock is most definitely part of BTAS-JLU continuity, due to Static's participation in the JLU/Batman Beyond crossover episode. So I guess Tim, like his comic counterpart, was a member of a later group of Titans we've never seen.
Of course, Timm and co played fast and loose with this stuff, never meaning to have a hard line of continuity between ALL the shows, and much of this is conjecture, but its fun to try and figure it out!

I caught a couple of episodes of the Zeta Project. I never paid attention to the fact that was a WB Toon,.. Nore did I know that it had ties to the rest of the TAS toons. ... Man,.. I guess I wasn't even paying attention.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

I never thought the Teen Titans cartoon really fit into the continuity of the other cartoons. I didn't even realize there was supposed to be that much flow between the different animated shows, although the first Batman animated series and the Superman one seem connected. I always see them as alternate realities. It just makes it easier than trying to figure it out.Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

I think it was essential/inevitable to have a grownup "different renamed superhero" version
of ---at least the DICK GRAYSON version of ROBIN---the whole drama
of a "sidekick" shedding that "sidekick" skin is too juicy to ignore---
and ROBIN was the perfect model for this drama to play out as he has always
been the A #1 sidekick in the DCU if not in all of comicdom."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment
