I like them both! The Quicksilver in X-Men:DOFP was a FUN character. But the Quicksilver in the Avengers is much closer to the Comic Book version...and the Actor played him well.
^What Bat said. Quicksilver in DOFP was a fun gimmicky character, but he had no depth, and I couldn't see him becoming much of a hero. The Avengers version was fleshed-out and well played.
Having said that, the X-Men one stole the movie, so I think they are kind of even.
I prefer the Avengers version. I did like the Days Of.. version and thought they used the character well but I felt the character only really worked because he had a small part. Too much of that version and he would have come off as a buffoon not a hero.
I really enjoyed the ATJ version. His smirk, accent and overall attitude was perfect. Too bad he won't be in future installments cause I thought they really hit on something with him. I kinda would have liked to see a better costume than a blue and grey thermal longjohn top, but that's just being picky.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.
It's hard to "steal the movie" AND be really fleshed out---but, really, how fleshed-out was AOU's anyways? The Bat is describing him the way that he described TWS Falcon, and if that's how much time he had onscreen, than he BETTER have been, not only uniquely useful to the plot, but it'd be nice if UNLIKE Falcon he was, also as The Bat said "more like the comicbook"---how was Falcon like the comicbook other than having wings and being black? Haven't seen AOU yet, but I
'm betting I like X-Men's Quicksilver better----heck, I like almost EVERYTHING about the younger X-Men movies better than other superhero movies.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
Just finished watching X-MEN:DOFP and, while I liked the somewhat more "serious" approach to the character of Quicksilver in A:AOU (a version for more closely resembling his comics persona), I gotta admit that Evan Peters' portrayal of the character was a lot more fun and fancy-free. His whole scene in the kitchen was very well orchestrated. I also liked his comment that "My mom slept with a guy who could do that," referring, of course, to Magneto. And I'm guessing that's the future Scarlet Witch sitting in his lap when he's watching television near the end of the movie.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
