Ooh...yeah...those are some bad publicity shots/designs. Lisa Frank meets My Chemical Romance. Ugh.

I can take or leave the movie at this point, but these images aren't doing it any favors.

You know this is definitely a film I am watching with curiosity. Not because I'm interested in it personally, but because of the so-called tracking on it. Some have it coming in over $120 million opening weekend which I think is ludicrous. Screenings for this movie have been seen by theaters less than half full, so where is this audience busting at the seams to see this thing if no one is showing up for a free screening? And the few reviews I have read all say the film is very dark and serious. Hmmm. Sounds like we've been down this path already this year. An obscure property that will likely get butchered by critics. Don't see that translating into a big opening weekend. I guess we'll see.

It will be really interesting to see how this goes. The commercials are trying to make this look like a Guardians of the Galaxy-like romp with a team of misfits, but then there's the talk of all the dark stuff, and it's of course coming out of the Snyder-verse, which is so dark it oozes ink. If the trailers are a bait and switch, that's going to really stink, because the fun elements have me slightly interested. As does Margot Robie. After seeing Tarzan, I get the hype around her, beyond the physical attractiveness.

This will be either a bargain theater or wait-until-it-hits-the-$7.50-bin-at-Walmart movie for me. I have little or no interest in the Suicide Squad and the more I see of Leto's hip-hop, gangsta Joker, the less I like him. I'm guessing that perhaps SS will appeal to the throngs of folks who went to check out another relatively unknown property called DEADPOOL...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

LOL! When I read that article last week, I literally laughed out loud. WB is publishing articles saying, "this will be the biggest film of the year", $120+, etc.. It just screams of desperation. I have no interest in the movie because I grew up as a Marvel kid and don't know the source material, but... I can guarantee it won't match the so-called projections!

This has been shaping up to be better than any DC-related movie since that one with Ledger in it.

Not that that's a huge accomplishment----but, then again, this IS the "Suicide Squad" part of the DC franchise----which makes that "better than any DC-related movie" notion (a bit) sad.

considering all there's been since Dark Knight are GL,MOS, DKR and B V S its not too hard to top that. I did just rewatch MOS and think it gets a raw deal, its not as bad as some people let on. Henry Cavill is a huge upgrade over that Chris Reeves pretender movie.

That "Chris Reeves pretender movie" (however you and the public related to it) had something in there I could relate to as far as "being Superman"... MOS just seemed like a collage of some other guy's Superman wrapped in a dismal package... "yay" Henry's a good actor... now put him in a movie that I recognize him as Superman.
