Avengers: Age of Ultron SPOILER FREE reaction

Since there's already a thread on the story, which will obviously contain spoilers, I thought I'd start this thread for folks who are wanting to gear up to the movie without learning anything they don't want to hear.

Wow, what a ride. I'm still on the high, so I won't say if it's better than the original. I tend to say "YES!" when I come out of the theater, and then reevaluate later when it comes to sequels.

I will say it equaled the first at the very least, with no discernible dip in quality. Some truly surprising twists, with the story going one way, and then swerving another. I had no idea some of these things were coming, but I didn't call foul on them either.

A totally satisfying movie experience. What more can you ask?

Awesome to hear Chris! So tell me... regular or 3D for this one?

^We did regular. I've yet to see a live-action movie in 3D that I felt was truly worth it.

Oh, and one more thing....there is one bonus scene mid-credits, but none at the very end. So save yourself the trouble of sitting in the theater for an additional 3-5 minutes.

Thought the 3d was alright for this film. Better than most.

We went to the 7pm 3D show, and enjoyed it! It has lots of smaller scenes that were pretty awesome, and to be honest some of the transitions from scene to scene could have been better, but it was still a fun movie.

I can't say 3D added much to it, but I don't regret going to the 3D showing.

Our theater had a couple of shows at the same time, and although full, our showing wasn't sold out.

Official studio estimates just came out for midnight receipts - $27.6 million. Wow... This thing is looking to make in excess of $200 million this weekend. Another monster hit.

I've never been a huge fan of the whole 3D gimmick (it usually just winds up giving me a headache), but I did see GotG in 3D and that blew my mind. Is the 3D in Age of Ultron comparable? If so, I'll definitely slide on the old goggles...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I saw it last night and liked it a lot. All through it I kept thinking of The Empire Strikes Back. This is another well made film that builds on what made the original film good. More character development as in Empire. I won't go into detail. It was nice to get two very good Avengers movies in a row.

I saw it this afternoon...I'm still recovering. Absolute Marvel heaven. This is why you go to the movies.
A great story with great actors playing off each other. Fantastic action sequences and an incredibly well done villain. What can I say about Ultron? James Spader delivered in Spades. (Pun intended!)

Saw it last week. It's damn good. Amazing action sequences, great interaction between the characters, solid acting, and a fairly compelling story.
But I still prefer the first Avengers movie overall.

Mid-credits sequence is short but awesome.

Saw it once in IMAX 3D and once in regular 3D. The 3D in this movie is actually pretty effective.

.Just got back a little while ago from seeing this. A couple of spoiler free thoughts:

There could not have been a better voice actor than Spader to play Ultron. If anyone thinks his character on Blacklist is smug and smarmy, he tops that here.

They really got the Hulk right this time. He truly looks like Ruffalo now, well more than the first film anyway.

My favorite Avenger of all-time Hawkeye gets some spotlight for once.

ATJ did an amazing job as Quicksliver. His attitude and accent were perfect.

The Vision has the funniest scene in the movie hands down. Everyone in the theater lost it.

The fight scenes were hard to follow, so much going on at once. It was difficult to focus on the ultron drone fight scene with hundreds of them getting smashed around by shields, repulsors, hammers, arrows, magic, super speed. It wasn't on the confusion level of a Transformers movie fight scene, though.

My third favorite Avenger character never showed up but his arch enemy did.

After four film appearances, it is quite evident that NOBODY could have ever played Captain America better than Evans. They will have to recast at some point, but it will not be as good.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.
