I'm going to a 7pm show with my kids and some of their friends. I pre-ordered the tickets a few days ago.

The days of going to see a movie on opening day are done for me...although I may make an exception when the new Star Wars comes out. That is a little more involved and also has a trip to NYC that makes it more tolerable. I just can't take hyped 1st day gotta see it movies anymore. I'm going to wait til next week to see the Avengers movie. Matinee showing on Wednesday looks to be my target. No idiots behind you kicking your chair and talking throughout the movie. I do applaud the fact that it is being released while kids are still in school...that's a whole other contingent to deal with and being that I will be going to a matinee during the school and work week it should eliminate majority of those dynamics. Yeah, next Wednesday middle of the afternoon looks real good right about now

Went to a 7pm showing. Not able to go tomorrow. Was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more people. Probley about 50-60 in a theatre that easily holds about three times that. I was hoping to be there with a theatre full of other fans. Sometimes that is part of the fun. I enjoyed it as did everyone else as far as I could tell. Part of the reason for the small crowd could have been because my local multiplex had five showings of the film tonight.Comment

My theater had multiple showings spread out through the night, and our particular room was full. Of course, seating was limited because, unbeknownst to me, they put in recliners! I had no idea. Probably cut the number of seats per room in half...but still it was sold out. Great crowd. Had a group of teen cosplayers sit by us.
