sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Dang, Big Barda is BIG here. I remember seeing just the art here in an old Comic Collector magazine, and wondering where in the heck this came from! Bob Oskner knew how to draw the ladies.
I love Bob Oksner art, he could really draw a sexy girl! And without the gratuitous sex- just look at how appealing that Thorn pose is, or the back view of Cheetah. Now picture both as done on a current cover , Cheetah's butt would be twice the size of her head and somehow positioned higher than her ears! Same with that gorgeous Supergirl- no oversized chest with circle template breasts. Oksner made her hot without even a trace of cleavage thrown in!
Oh how I wish these were the versions DC was still using.

I think it's because back in the days when these artists were working, they strove to keep the human form as close to normal looking as possible while still maintaining a degree of "super," unlike most of today's artists who seem to have taken most of their artistic pointers from internet porn, nudie magazines, wrestling and (not to bash it), manga.
