^The Difference is Widow had that basic look since 1970. The X-Men movies stole it.

True dat! But that coloured piping Gimme the old fashioned plain jumpsuit any day. I really would love to see Johanssen in the grey suits/short hair look at some point in the cinematic universe
(Those Marvel Handbook and Who's Who entries really imprinted themselves on me at a young age!)

Little Factoid - The X-Movie black leather look was mandated because of the success of The Matrix and Blade. Fox saw comic costume designs as DOA due to Clooney's Batman. Until that point, every earlier X-script had the Jim Lee/X-Men cartoon aesthetic as the default.Comment

I honestly thought that these would become the recurring X-Men uniforms moving forward from X-Men First Class, silly me!

^Well, we haven't seen how the uniforms will look in the post-DOFP X-Universe, so who knows? I'd like to see some variation of the First Class uniforms return.
