The big winner in the hot cakes market was Lisa Douglas, who sold them under the "HotsCakes" brand .
Not many people know this, but they were originally sold door to door out in the country by representatives of the Haney Corporation. This was back in the mid sixties, when rural farming was becoming a big thing with the city folk.
I've always wondered about that expression. Was there a time when hotcakes were a really big thing? Were people waiting in lines to buy hotcakes? How much was a hotcake back then? Was the inventor of the hotcake the Bill Gates of his time?
