I haven't been following Arrow much, but on first glance, it looks a bit too much like the Ant-Man movie costume. Needs more blue to break that up.

I was thinking the same thing, Chris. I'd also like to see the face-plate tinted.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I think Atom's outfit looks cool. (this may be the first time that phrase has been said)

I wonder if, in the 1970s, people thought all the heroes in colorful spandex looked the same. There is a real sameness overtaking many of the live action hero interpretations methinks. He really looks like Captain Iron Ant America Man.

I just wish they'd left him Ted Kord/Blue Beetle as they originally planned -- that seems the way they've nudged "the Atom" anyway.

Yeah, it just doesn't read Atom to me. If I had seen the photo without knowing what it was, my first guess wouldn't be Atom. It does look like the Ant-man costume as Chris said, maybe his weekend look. Short of that a cheap Iron Man as another said. DC/WB shouldn't be afraid of their own characters and who they are. The bright Atom colors would set up a great visual and thematic contrast to Arrow. They are setting up a love triangle between Atom, Arrow and Felicity. It would have been a natural move. Arrow's a good show, and the production team makes good shows, but they missed the bullseye with this call.

I was not happy when this was released. If they at least went with the DCnU version I would be alright.

Glad to see they're integrating more DC characters so it's a fun idea and I will certainly watch it to see how it plays. The look doesn't grab me but if the treatment is good, I'll forget the rest. Is it me or are too many suits looking like a Hybrid of Iron Man?

I was wondering why they didn't go more blue with the red...but maybe since it's Brandon Routh, they don't want to be THAT obvious?

My first glance I thought of the Valiant Comics' X-O Manowar.
Maybe they'll "clean it up" after Ray starts using it awhile. Truthfully though, it will seem odd to have the Atom shrinking around in the Arrow-Verse, where it's more street oriented. I think Blue Beetle Ted Kord might have worked better, but I'm guessing DC still plans on trying to fit the Jaime Reyes version into the TV universe. The Atom seems more in the tech oriented Flash world, but hey, it'll all be good.

Some versions of his costume in the comics have been more armored.

That said, a more classic version would've been nice too. Maybe this version of the suit is a prototype and the armored parts will be removed later on.

They really should preserve the atomic logo somewhere on the suit at the very least.
