Look I wanted to like "Gotham" as much as anyone but after the pilot, each week my resolve to stay with the show in spite of its shortcomings has been chipped away bit by bit until I stopped watching it this week. It's like a puzzle, where you know what the final picture looks like and you think it's 2000 pieces and it'll take you awhile to finish but instead there's four big pieces and you're done in two seconds.

^Yeah, I gave it several weeks, but to me, it's just trying way to hard to be "edgy" and "hip". But I'm glad others are liking it.

No...the Penguin is not the Joker.

I disagree about signs of desperation, as Gotham is a ratings winner, and it has just been renewed.

Introducing the Joker was to appease the fans, who have been demanding him...and I think it's cool that the producers gave in.

And yes, they did the Scarecrow right. IMO...last night was the best episode so far...and I double enjoyed seeing Cobblepot and Nigma meet face to face for the very first time...a contrast of styles for sure...it was awesome. I even enjoyed the Fish Mooney backstory...she may not be an original comic book character...but she has been a great addition to the show...having said that...we all know Pinguin is going to eventually dispose of her.

Love Gotham, can't get enough of it...definitely my favorite show right now.
Gotham is definitely my favorite from the genre on TV at this point. James, Bruce, Alfred, Harvey, Sarah, Fish, Maroni & Falcone are well cast and interesting characters in their own right and are the foundation of the show. Penguin, the standout of the show, is perfectly cast and is the most fascinating character I've seen on broadcast TV in a very long time. Edward and Selina are also excellently cast, and along with Dent, Ivy and Jonathan, they add another dynamic dimension to the show. The villains, although there have been some duds, most have been very well portrayed and are basically the icing on the cake.

Loved Season 1 of Arrow, Season 2 a little bit less so, but Season 3 is becoming way too "CW" with all the background soap opera drama (and Laurel....jeez, really?).

So far, I'm still enjoying Flash (despite the fact that everything is interconnected to a single event), I like the lighthearted/innocent approach, but can see it easily falling into the same "CW" trap that Arrow has succumbed to. I hope they can manage to avoid that.

SHIELD is on the brink of losing my interest completely...and the three month hiatus is not adding any incentive for me to hang on.

Karma's a pain, Hec. Remember Smallville?

I really am glad others are digging it, no fooling. Ain't hurtin' me none.

Loved the episode...the best of the series so far.

That young actor was perfectly cast as a very young Joker (he could still be a decoy though)...he (Jerome) definitely has the look...that evil smirk was dead on...the red hair, he even had a dark purple sweater on...and as a redhead...he even has that natural pale skin going on...the only minus was his laugh...not quite high pitched enough...but hopefully he tweaks that later on.

Some don't like Fish Mooney...I love her...she might not be an "original"...but she's definitely someone you don't wanna mess with...she's a badarse. Some say she overacts...well...so does Robin Taylor as Penguin...he himself hams it up quite a bit...but he rules nevertheless...I'm just going to be saddened when Mooney finally loses to Penguin...we all know that's going to happen eventually down the road.

Can't wait till next Monday, lol.

Yeah, the appearance of the Red Hood next week throwing me off about whether Jerome is the Joker or not, lol.

This is the second potential Joker... Remember way back the comic auditioning for Fish?
I'm thinking they'll do a number of Joker maybes, and well never know which is the real one. Red Hood next week might just turn out to be a Todd underneath.
Barbara's back, poor Jim needs to decide...if he goes back to Babs, that'll be a messy day job to deal with won't it?
Personally, I'd stay with Lee! Smart, hot, interested in my job, and she can cook. No crazy baggage (so far but it is Gotham), no ex/current- girl/boyfriend to worry about. Let Harvey have a shot at Barbara!
Tired of Penguins mom too. The nightclub should be playing cool jazz.

The Red Hood Gang was played up as different guys taking turn under the hood in the comics in at least one retcon, so it could be a musical chairs thing with the actual hood.

Was it me or did it seem at the end he was blending Nicholson and Ledger?

Well, obviously the young actor was influenced by both...I'm sure of that, lol.

Yep...Cameron Monaghan is a pretty good actor. He plays Ian Gallagher on Showtime's Shameless...the bi-polar gay brother/son.

Another great episode...and you're not alone.... I also like Fish. She & Penguin "Tear It Up" every week. (see what I did there )
