Guardians of the Galaxy...best movie intro ever?

    ***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

I absolutely loved the introduction of Star Lord...I think it's the best character intro since Indiana Jones in Raiders. Except Indiana Jones wasn't dancing to Redbone while using a space rat for a microphone.

So, GOTG tops it for me...

    It's a great opening.

    ***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

After the heart-wrenching pre-credit sequence, the actual opening with Star Lord on the planet, looking for the orb, told us, "yes, this movie has some substance, but just sit back and have fun". And we did!

Yeah, I haven't had that much fun at a movie in a while...will definitely be seeing it again.

It was so well done. The way the credits rolled, and the editing of the music. And then the big reveal of the title itself across the bottom of the screen in the wide shot. Yep. They establish a groovy vibe right from the onset.

I'm trying to find time for all 4 of us to see it again this weekend. Can't recall a recent movie I was so willing to do that for.

Me neither. I went to see it for the second time in IMAX 3D today. The movie is somehow more than the sum of its parts.

The whole family just got back again from seeing it. That rarely happens. We all love it. Been wearing the Awesome Mix soundtrack out too.

I had high expectations for this based solely on the trailers, seeing as how I knew nothing about these characters. The movie delivered on all fronts, and it has quickly jumped to the top spot in my list of Marvel movies. I agree with you about Star Lords intro, fantastic stuff. All of the characters are so likeable in their own way, it's impossible not to get totally invested in the movie. I have to admit I got a little choked up by the "We are Groot" line.

Saw it again tonight, fun flick and the second time didn't take anything away. It was maybe better the second time.

I have watched the a downloadable copy of it and I truly liked it. I am going to the theater thrusday to see it again, but I truly loved this movie. In my opinion I hope the next one will include the Cosmo in a better role than just a cameo. In the comics he helps them out more than they know.

Went in with no expectations, when those credits came up I thought "this is going to be fun". It was.

You know what I loved? The ending. When John C Reilly's character thanked them because his family was safe... And then they showed him returning home to his wife and daughter... Got a lump in the throat. This movie just oozes charm and heart and all the things missing from Dark Knight and Man of Steel.

Saw it with Adam tonight. Really enjoyed it. And I admit not knowing much about the characters. I was always a DC kid and once you get past the A and B players in Marvel I'm kind of out of it. But I really did enjoy it. It had the right amount of humor and action.
