So they hired a 6'4" actor to play the world's smallest man. I guess there's some nifty irony in there somewhere.

I still think he royally got the shaft from WB and that he would have been terrific in the role if he had the chance to reprise it. The film was all kinds of wrong, but the casting was brilliant. It's good to see WB kinda make up for the slight with this role and it's neat to see Ray Palmer in any incarnation. I suppose I should catch up on Arrow since I've yet to see an episode.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

good for Routh! if Evans can do both Johnny Storm & Steve Rogers, I can settle with both Kent/Kal-el & Palmer

I have given up on the DC Cinematic Universe and would rather see more of the DC TV Universe now that we have both Arrow and Flash. I cannot wait to see how long Ray Palmer will be on till the Atom is needed.

I've always liked Routh, I think he'll do a great job!

When I first read that Routh joined the Arrow cast, my heart skipped a beat thinking he would be Superman again.

You ought to give Arrow a try. I've not seen every episode, but what I've seen, I like. It has a lot of little nods to the DCU. It doesn't really follow DC continuity, but what TV show ever has?

Routh may end up getting a series out of this. It's kind of a smart move to establish the Atom, if only on TV, before Antman makes it to the silver screen.

I would have been ok with this. Because contrary to the movie big wigs I can follow different 2 different Supermans.

                  According to the Networks:

No you cannot handle seeing a Superman/Batman on TV & Movies. You would not pay the ever increasing price of movie tickets if you can sit at home and see Superman/Batman for free on TV.
Now what I want to know is where can I get free tv channels. I have to pay for my Dish. The fact is I do not go to the theaters anymore. The last one I went to was Man of Steel. I will however buy the DVD/Blurays and watch them on my own private big screen surround sound 3-D TV. It just works better.

Weird choice, still see this guy as Superman because his face reminds me of Reeves.

I think the worry by execs isn't so much that fans will be confused, even though I've read that as an excuse. It's oversaturation among the general audience, not the fan audience. As much as I'd love to see a Batman or Superman or Green Lantern TV series as well as movies about those characters, there are many more folks out there that don't have the same love or tolerance for super heroes. The studios need those folks on board for the big budget movies, and right or wrong, Warners, to a degree, is subscribing to the leave-the-audience-wanting-more theory with the big-name characters.

It's going to be interesting to see how all the DC properties do as series this season. Flash and IZombie could pull lower ratings than Constantine or Gotham and yet be considered a relative success b/c CW doesn't draw viewers like NBC or a Fox.

It will also be interesting to see if the Flash is a success on the CW, does Warner spin him into the JLA and Flash/GL movie that 's planned or do they recast. By the time the JLA movie makes it to theaters, Flash could have 2 seasons under the belt. Is that even possible possible schedulewise? Working a 22-episode series is a lot more demanding on time than even a big-budget film.

I like Routh. Whenever he shows up in things like "Scott Pilgrim" or "Chuck", he seems to be at peace and willing to have some fun with his superhero past.

I think the Atom makes for more compelling television than Superman, anyhow.

Palmer is suppose to be 6 foot even so it's not that much of a stretch.

Put me in the "I Like Routh" camp. He did fine work in a thankless job, playing someone else's Superman. I can see him as Palmer.

too bad Marvel can't add Hyperion or Gladiator to one of their movies and cast him in it.....I'd like to see him act Supermanish in a Marvel movie....lol

I dig Routh and happy to see him continue to move forward with his career.
