Rumor of Warner Bros/DC's super hero film schedule

Here's a story with the rumored slate of films WarnerBros/DC plans to announce at Comic-Con. If it's true it's an aggressive schedule.

    nikkifinke.com/comic-con/

A solo Batfleck film stands out as missing.

But, a Shazam and Wonder Woman film would make a ton of fans happy, and a Flash and Green Lantern film team-up is something I never dreamed of, but I really want to see.

I am not surprised a stand alone Batman flick isn't included.

Ben is a tad busy with his Director career. I doubt he was willing to sign a contract for three movies with heavy screen time. That's nine years of work. Having a smaller role were the weight of the whole project isn't on his shoulders seems like its up his alley.

Also, given we just had three Batflicks I agree that DC needs to milk its other properties. Most folks don't even recognize the DC Comics brand let alone what characters beyond the Big Three are in their stable. That's one thing Marvel has extremely well is push the Marvel brand.

I do not understand what Sandman has to do with the lineup.

^it's a DC property owned by Warner Bros. The JLA appeared in issue No. 8, I believe. But no Sandman's not a super hero comic.

Übermax, it was reported last September that Affleck has an multiple-film deal with Warner's that will include a solo Batman film.

I'd love more DC films. I want Wonder Woman first though but 2017 is better than no date.

Considering Warner's track record with making Superhero movies I take this with several grains of salt. I will be happy for them to prove me wrong. I wish Warner's/DC could make a deal with Marvel over the name Captain Marvel. I hate that they have to refer to the character as SHAZAM!. The Big Red Cheese deserves better!

^Totally agree with you, Phil. I'm guessing the Shazam film will be based on the New52 reworking of the character. Don't care for the hooded cape at all.

If they do a Captain Marvel/Shazam! movie I'd like it done as a stand alone period piece, where it takes place in the 40's NOT in modern times. Cap's hey days were in the 40's a modern movie for me wouldn't work. It would be awesome if they could get Joe Johnston to direct since he seems to understand, how to make a fun period movie. His work on the Rocketeer and Captain America was fantastic.....and NO! Dwayne Johnson The Rock attached to the movie....he freaking sucks as an actor!

A movie I would love to see is a traditional animated movie based on the C.C. Beck version of Captain Marvel. The character designs are already cartoonish so a good bit of work is already done.

I have less than no interest in any modern version of Captain Marvel.

I'm aware of that. :( Maybe I should break out my copy of "Adventures of Captain Marvel" serial and watch that again.

I like the name "SHAZAM" better than Captain Marvel, as Shazam is how I was introduced to the character---but I don't need to say much further about that--I mean, this IS a Mego/WGSH-related board after all... that said, I wonder if the "Captain Marvel" name will be referred to at all in the upcoming movie.

As far as what time period the thing should be? To me, it'd be more of a rip off to this character (and it's fans) to not integrate Shazam/Cap M into the modern DCU film universe than most other "rip off decisions" potentially being made to the character.

The hood? It's like nothing ---I mean, in the recent animated JL movie, I hardly noticed it.

Yes---I know they called him Captain Marvel in the Timmverse---can't remember if they referred to him like that in the recent JL movie---I have a vague recollection though of him actually using the "Shazam" name---not sure though.

Sadly MegoKnight, I believe the "New 52" has done away with "Captain Marvel" and the wizard; only Shazam remains. I'm not sure how he addresses both his name and using his power.

The Big Red Cheese will always be Captain Marvel to me--litigation & re-vamps don't necessarily define a character.
