One of the most surreal things I've ever seen...

I went to see X-Men on Saturday, and as we were walking into the theater, I glanced up at the huge marquee, and there amongst a dozen titles in a triangle were:

X-Men: Days of Future Past, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Amazing Spider-Man 2...

I couldn't really believe it...three Marvel movies playing at the same time. It actually gave me pause. As a kid growing up in the 1970's, imagining that marquee would have seemed impossible.

It made me feel so strange...it was a very emotional experience. I wish I'd taken a picture.

It is pretty wild. And yet…. they're still not the movies I'd dreamed of as a kid. It's too bad all this film technology didn't exist in the more innocent sensibilities of the 1970s.

I couldn't agree with you more Andy! If I'd directed Amazing Spider-Man 2, Electro would've been a white guy in green and yellow with a huge lightning mask. To hell with realism! And the Green Goblin would've looked like this:

Cheers to that! (And I'm a DC guy at heart!)
The superhero film bubble will burst eventually (what goes up...), but that's how it goes.

If you would've told me in 1990 that it would've worked out like this, I wouldn't have believed you.

Post-Batman (1989), I thought everything would change and this high point we're seeing in 2014 with Superhero movies would've happened in 1995 or something .
