I tend to believe the costume talk around the WW leather jacket era design being incorporated. Something's telling me she's not going to be from Themyscira as we know it, also.
Maybe there's more of a "gray area" mindset on some things here. She may not be getting "ripped" ripped, but surely she's changing her body image in SOME way through SOME regimen... she's playing WONDER WOMAN after all. And as far as

...well, Reeve did pretty well with that stuff during his full run of the Supes films.

Female physiology does not respond to weight training and diet as readily as male physiology does. It's one of the reasons it is generally easier for men to lose weight than women. As thin and fit as Gadot is, any additional muscle would likely show. She might get ripped, but the mass won't be there. A body transformation like Cavil made isn't possible for a female in a similarly short period of time unless there is chemical help. Maybe not even then. Supposedly, Cavil was tested for steroids throughout his building up phase.

I'm sure she is training to some degree, even if it is primarily martial arts for possible fight scenes. Ann Hathaway trained for Catwoman, but there wasn't a discernible difference in her look in that film than most others.

I have a feeling we're going to get pretty much what was cast with Gadot. She looks like a Michael Turner drawing. Turner did an arc in the Superman Batman book that guest starred Wonder Woman. That could have been part of her being cast. I don't know. I could see her as Talia more than Wonder Woman.

I understand those who questioned Affleck and Eisenberg being cast as Batman and Luthor, but to me Gadot was the biggest reach. She is a beautiful woman, but lacks the physical stature one would expect for Wonder Woman. I also haven't seen her in anything that suggests she could carry a solo super-hero film. But I've only seen her in the Fast Five movie. She may have done standout work elsewhere or maybe has it in her and just hasn't been given the chance.

I read one article that suggested Batman Superman and Justice League would be filming back to back, so the actors could train through the films without a layoff. I think that was more speculation than fact.

As for Reeve, it seems once he added the muscle for Superman: The movie, he pretty much retained it at least in his chest and legs. There was also some padding used in some of the films. But in Somewhere in Time, DeathTrap and Bostonians, he was a big guy. But then again, he didn't add the mass or gain the definition that Cavil did for Man of Steel. Cavil was on his way to being a body builder.
