Got the Archies and Uncle Scrooge for free. They didn't have Buck Rogers. (big surprise, they never have what I want except Archie). But I did find some cool 60s Batman mini buttons w/ the sound effects words on them as well as the 60s logo, Batmobile, Batman, Robin and the Joker. I got 14 of them. Score!

Took my daughters to my LCBS for FCBD. They were terribly impressed that everyone knew me by first name. The oldest daughter said "its like a bad episode of Cheers, Dad and you are Norm". She's not my favorite anymore

They grabbed all the kids stuff while I grabbed DC's Flashpoint ... er sorry, they called this go back in time and save the world story "Future's End" this time around.

The Marvel books were all gone but I did leaf thru the Valiant Armor Wars.

We of course dutifully hit the stacks and bins and bought a whack of comics. I even wore my FCBD T-shirt and was mistaken for staff a few times.

Then it was off to the local Poutinerria for lunch. Fries smothered in cheese and gravy! Yummers.

Do your stores limit the amount you can get? Both our comic stores are right across the street from each other. One set a limit of 5 books and the other was 2 books. The one store was packed, his books and action figures were on sale and he was giving away free buttons and lantern rings. The other store his books were 50% off.

Our stores were three per person. I didnt see the Disney at either or I would have grabbed that.

Yeah, I've found your mileage may very considerably. Ours had a woman handing them out from behind a table. You had to tell her what you wanted, and while there wasn't a set limit, it would be uncomfortable to ask for loads and loads. So my daughter picked Archie Digest and I picked Bongo free for all. I would've liked to see a better selection, but hey free is free.

Yes, some had 2 some had 4 some had 5. I hit a few comic shops yesterday so I was able to get stuff in different shops....and i bought books to support all the shops i went to. First time I really got the bug to buy new comics in years. I usually go just to by my daughter a few kid comics. I usually go to shops and buy back issues and action figures.

I was able to visit two stores with my brother. The first one had no limit on the amount of free comics you could pick but only had the Gold Books. We picked a few and was sure to purchase some new comic off the shelf. This shop was involved in a fire a few months ago and lost everything so there were no back issues to search through. The second store had a limit of 4 but then you could purchase another 10 for 50 cents a piece, but was out of Zombie Tramp, Entropy, Black Sky and a couple others I was interested in were gone by the time we got there. However, he had a live band, hotdogs grilling outside and several comic artists setup throughout the store. I purchased some trade paperbacks along with some back issues, to fill gaps, from the store. I met Darren Auck and his lovely wife and purchased an original, What If, comic page from him and then met Mark McKenna and purchased an original, Gotham Underground, comic page from him. They were both more than happy to talk about comics, the current crop of superhero movies being released and their personal experience working in comics and traveling around doing shows and meeting fans. I also had great discussions with a few new artists, just starting out in the business, and was sure to purchase their comics that were available. Overall it was a great day to be a comic geek and I'm already looking forward to next year!

                          I got these --

...but that's because I ended up hitting the local flea market with my wife after cancelling my previous plans -- due to a bout of the flu last week -- to participate in a WWII reenactment. Sometimes it all works out.
