I do have faith in Snyder. Too bad they are using Cyborg. I thought he was a great choice for the League when 52 started but he falls short (IMHO). I hate his depiction in any of the animated features. Outside of John Stewart as Green Lantern, I have a hard time picturing any of DC black characters as Justice League members. Vixen was pretty cool when they did the energy depiction of the animal she was channeling in the cartoon. That could work?

so DC's putting all its egg's in Snyder's basket? Uggh. Learn a lesson from Marvel, lots of different directors so you get movies that aren't all the same bland gloomy flavor.

Yecch. DC just doesn't get it. We've seen plenty of "epic". Now, people just want to have a good time at the movies.

Meh...it feels like 'Follow the Leader'...as though they were forced to respond to the 'Avengers' Movie and Marvel Tie-Ins.

What would be REALLY sad is if the villain in the JLA Movie is Darkseid...then it's a total copycat attempt.

No, if there was some semblance of ground work or if the new 52 was better (IMO) I'd be excited instead of just cautiously optimistic.

Marvel seems aware that they have great characters, I get the feeling WB is aware that they have a cash cow on their hands.

I mean, fingers crossed but so far, I just don't quite get the approach. Green Lantern and more importantly Man of Steel were wonderful opportunities to start building but there was nothing.

For many many years WB has never understood the value of DC. All they saw were "those comic book guys". When it came time to write a new Superman movie did they even talk with the guys that have been writing Superman for decades? Apparently not. And when they made yet another Superman movie did they learn for that mistake? Nope.

Marvel movies (not including Spider-Man and X-Men of course) are done BY Marvel. The same guys that guild these characters each and every month are the same fellows guiding the movies. They hire fans of the source material to write and direct. There is a real sense of "these are our characters and lets give them the love they deserve. Lets make the movie WE want to see." And it shows. Sure, not every flick has been a runaway success but the audience is responding to that love and care.

Warner Bros is looking at the huge box office of the Marvel movies and are now telling the movie division to raid the comic division for profit. The WB movie guys don't get the characters. Man of Steel proved that. Superman in Man of Steel is NOT the same big blue boy scout that I have read all my life. He's the Michael Bay-ified Superman. What the WB movie guys think we want to see. Unfortunately it was successful. So now WB believes they have the winning formula and are going to apply it to the rest of DC. And it will bomb. There will be more stinkers than winners.

DC is equally as dysfunctional as the rest of WB. We have a TV and Movie guy (Dan Didio) in charge of publishing and a comic book guy (Geoff Johns) in charge of TV and Movie relations. ***!!! This is how the New 52 happened (or as I like to say the Wildstormification of DC.) Look at the love and passion Joe Quesada put into Marvel when he was EIC. From bankrupt to the number #1 comic publisher.

I'm ranting ... sorry. As a lifelong DC guy I am seeing my pulllist go from 83% DC Comics to 23% and it's giving me heartache. Nothing in this Justice League movie announcement if alleviating that. I am hoping to be proven wrong and that these upcoming DC movies will be on par with Marvel's offerings.

Marty, no offense personally, but your depiction of Marvel is their hype, not reality. Only real life-long fans have been Whedon and possibly Favreau and Wright.

Marvel doesn't hire different directors for artistic reasons. It's over production control and money. That's why Branagh, whose was more than willing to come back for Thor2 and was wanted by Hemsworth and cast to return, wasn't given the offer. Same thing with Favreau.

Justice League has turned into a unforced-error blockbuster. They're counting on huge visuals to trump everything else. Like Transformers.

Hey Marty, Geoff Johns is a movie guy that came into comics later. He used to be Richard Donner' assistant.

As for the New52, I see Lee as more of the prime offender rather than Diddio and Johns. The design of the New52 was made over in Lee's image along with a few other artists of his choosing.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Superman-Batman and Justice League will hit closer to the target mainly because of the change in leadership at WB. Kevin Tsujihara, the new head at WB, is supposed to have more respect for DC and possibly that will allow for more traditional choices to be made than with MOS. both Goyer and Singer have said they were told to go opposite when making choices for the character. Singer wanted to use the traditional Superman suit design but was forced not to.

While I know Affleck wasn't a popular choice for Batman, I hope his involvement means his story sense will work its way into the DC film universe. He's made three very good movies since he took over more control of the films he works on.

As a fan of the characters, I have to set my thinking that way or just totally write the films off. I don't really want to do that alt least not until I see them.

^ When it comes to overall direction and slap-dashery nature of the comics, Dido hold the most responsibility. He's the architect Nelson put in charge. Johns and Lee come in second.

You've got some facts mixed with WB. Singer dealt with Alan Horn, Nolan dealt with Robinov. Robinov was the guy who made Batman Begins happen. He brought Nolan to Batman and was the driving force behind putting all the DC properties back under WB control. Before him, all the characters were separated into producer fifedoms and were never going to crossover if not for Robinov. The most influence he had on Begins was adding the Batmobile, which Nolan has said he was right about.

Horn, on the other hand, is as clueless as the guy before him, De Bonventura. Singer sold Horn on his version of Superman after he lost out on the Trek reboot and was looking to get out and screw over X-Men 3. Returns is all Singer; costume, cast, story. All of it. Saying they tied his hands is like when Shumacher used to blame WB for his Batman flicks. After Begins came out, Joel finally admitted the camp style of Forever and B&R was his doing.

So if you like anything from WB for the past few years, including Affleck and Snyder's movies, it was Robinov and Tull, the guy who ran Legendary. The new people under Tsujhiara are adapting the Robinov/Tull formula to accommodate WB corporate and Brett Ratner's interest, since he's the new financier. Ratner knows if he directed a DC property all hell would break loose, but he and Affleck are really calling the shots now. That's a major reason for the delay.

IMO, there are too many cooks and all decisions are being made by committee. For example, I don't believe Gadot was Snyder's WW choice when you look at his previous female choices like Headey in 300 and Traue as Faora. Gadot fits perfectly in a Ratner movie, though. But, the concept is such a spectacle and Snyder is so good at that, it becomes commercially bullet-proof. The overall effect, though, won't produce the long-term gains Marvel has made as this is short-term planning. I see maybe one stand-alone movie coming out of this, unless Affleck wants to do it. Even then, if the TV show works, he won't have to.
